it's unmistakable that tens of millions of dollars passed between David Ellison, his companies, and Epstein between 2013-2017. In 2013, approximately $50M transferred between Epstein and Skydance (see www.justice.gov/epstein/file...). /3

How to avoid sexual assault! A QUICK AND EASY GUIDE*

sexual violence centre cork

1 DON'T PUT DRUGS IN PEOPLE'S DRINKS

4 WHEN YOU SEE A WOMAN WALKING BY HERSELF, LEAVE HER ALONE.

3 WHEN YOU COME ACROSS SOMEONE WHO IS DRUNK OR ASLEEP, THE BEST THING TO DO IS NOT RAPE THEM.

6 CARRY A WHISTLE. IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT RAPE SOMEONE, BLOW THE WHISTLE UNTIL SOMEONE COMES TO STOP YOU.

2 USE THE BUDDY SYSTEM! IF YOU CAN'T STOP YOURSELF FROM SEXUALLY ASSAULTING SOMEONE, ASK A TRUSTED FRIEND TO ACCOMPANY YOU AT ALL TIMES TO STOP YOU.

5 IF YOU ARE IN A LIFT AND SOMEONE STEPS IN, REMEMBER NOT TO SEXUALLY ASSAULT THEM.

Dear @erc.europa.eu , we DO already have common standards & frameworks. 'AI' likes to pose itself as 'special' but we do not need to reinvent the wheel. We already have established codes of conduct for research integrity. We just need to apply them. See below + more resources in thread🧵
Protecting the Ecosystem of Human Knowledge: Five Principles
We must protect and cultivate the ecosystem of human knowledge. AI models can mimic
the appearance of scholarly work, but they are (by construction) unconcerned with truth
— the result is a torrential outpouring of unchecked but convincing-sounding “informa-
tion”. At best, such output is accidentally true, but generally citationless, divorced from
human reasoning and the web of scholarship that it steals from. At worst, it is confidently
wrong. Both outcomes are dangerous to the ecosystem.
Olivia Guest, Iris van Rooij, Marcela Suarez, et al. (2025, n.p.)
Knowledge production is supposed to be safeguarded by (inter)national codes of conduct for research
integrity (ALLEA 2023; KNAW et al. 2018). Such codes forbid, for instance, fabrication of data,
falsification of results, plagiarism, and, generally, distortion of the scientific record. Many argue that
new rules are required to regulate academic AI use, but pre-existing guidelines fit the bill (cf. Tafani

right. we don’t do secret trials. the accused is afforded a public trial to clear their name. the victim has 0 obligation to the public to step forward. It’s why The State brings criminal cases. It’s a matter of public policy to discourage crime. It’s not as if the defendant doesn’t know the ID

This is not a hot take. I’m shocked to see people continue to support Harry Potter. There’s no “separating the artist from the work” while the artist actively uses the proceeds from that work to harm others. Joanne’s universe building is grim when you think of the mind from whence it came.

For my money, this graf is the most revealing in offering an explanation of the real function of all this AI dooming: they've vastly overestimated the potential of current transformer architecture and need regulatory capture to save them from their more sensible Chinese competitors:
One notes, for instance, a relative paucity of such testerics in Chinese AI development. It is reported, in Concordia’s latest ‘State of AI Safety in China’ report, that there has been an official shift towards addressing the possibility of a ‘technological loss of control’, and this is sometimes misleadingly taken to refer to the idea of a malign superintelligent agency, but in fact the worry is more about loss of control over sensitive data to hostile agents, misuse (mainly by opponents of the regime), and badly designed tools (like OpenClaw) behaving badly, than AI superintelligence threatening human extinction. Correspondingly, China invests far less in AI than the US. As of 2025, according to the Stanford 2026 AI Index Report, the US invested $258bn in AI compared to just $12.4bn in China, a 23:1 ratio. Intriguingly, the same report finds a mere 2.7% gap between the performance of the top AI model in the US compared to China’s top model despite the latter being far cheaper and more energy-efficient to run: a jarring chasm between financial input and performance output.

Rather than getting sidetracked into a semantic debate about anthropomorphism or what we mean by "goals" or whatever, it should be alarming enough that people this callous and comically bent have amassed this amount of wealth, labour power and capital, which is to say the problem is still capitalism

Dems lost Silicon Valley because they tiptoed around regulation, whereas the GOP has made its interest in corruption + corporate dominance clear. There isn’t a “Silicon Valley” anymore. But there is centralized power that we need to bust. Targeting the $ is how.
