Kitten update: Maple is very cute and playful and can pack the cat food away like a champ. She is still learning the correct place to do her business. She likes to lick and bite my face at 2 am. Milo has granted tacit acceptance.

While we were waiting we chatted with his friend’s dad (who is a musician) about nerves and he said that he always gets nervous but just accepts that the bear (performing) is going to eat him no matter what, which makes him less nervous. 🤣

I recently started a pretty restrictive diet for medical reasons. The other day I was trying to describe a cloud I saw to F and I said that it looked like a pirogi and he replied, “This change is really hard for you, isn’t it?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (It’s not actually)

The summer btwn fresh/soph in college I worked at the Red Giraffe video store. Before DVDs. Back when you had to get an SSN to issue a rental card and transactions were almost entirely done in cash. The interior was pretty… Red. We could only have G-rated stuff playing. I made $4.75 an hour.

It already did. Sanofi distributes that vaccine now under the name Nuvaxovid:

Moderna and Pfizer, which make the most commonly used Covid vaccines, are expected to begin shipping soon; Pfizer said it would do so “immediately,” and Moderna has done so within days of approval in past years. Sanofi, which distributes a non-mRNA option called Nuvaxovid, said doses would be available in September, with the timing varying by location.

As was the case last year, the F.D.A. approved the shots for all people 65 and older, as well as for younger people who have a condition that increases their risk of severe illness from Covid. The Moderna shot is approved for ages 6 months and older; the Pfizer shot for ages 5 years and older; and the Sanofi shot for ages 12 years and older.

What shall we read next??? We still read aloud, as a family - almost every night. I use it as a way to expose JP to certain “classic” works that they might not otherwise encounter (though some things have also been new to me). We just finished The Last Unicorn by Peter Beagle, which was amazing….

Did not know my hometown (Indianapolis) had flood walls until yesterday! Many areas where I spent a lot of time growing up were badly flooded. My brother’s house is okay - about 200 ft from where the water maxed out!

I go from following wildfires in Spokane (where my college friend’s parents home burned to nothing) to repeated flooding in Pendleton IN (where my brother & his family live) while sitting through tornado warnings & surveilling storm damage in my own town. Climate change is HERE and EVERYWHERE.
