I highly recommend the records that they put out under their old name, Mako Sica. Great band!

I'm opening for the brand-new band Casa Sueno (Mike Baggetta/John Herndon/Mike Watt) at Pappy's this coming Monday

I've been fortunate to hang with Watt a couple of times at his apt. and he has never had a shirt on. Others have confirmed that this is how he rolls at all times in the crib. I have never seen him wear shorts, however

Black Truffle release their Hans Reichel collection this Friday. If you've never heard Reichel, do yourself a favour and listen to the pre-released tracks here. One of the greatest guitarists ever to radically reimagine the instrument.

Listening to all their records chronologically is fascinating. They start out a 4-piece band full of confidence and swagger, basically inventing "alt-country," then their drummer and 2nd guitarist leave, they aren't replaced, and everything gets slower and slower and more profoundly dismal

Derek Monypeny @derekmonypeny.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Their last 2 records before this one (Frozen and Notes Campfire) are exactly "meandering slower than sound with unusual music shapes and something to say"
