Up until very recently indeed, airlines were the only businesses that I dealt with regularly that practiced "price discrimination," charging different customers different prices for the same seats.

The other gods are going to be a bit wary of the hero, but honestly, if you made a hero that powerful upset enough to cut you off from their world, you aren’t doing the diety job very well. Gods are pretty complacent and none of them see themselves in the bonehead that just got limited.

In my setting, gods are the embodiment of ideas. “Killing” a god means taking away their ability to answer prayers and manifest on that sphere of that plane. The idea still exists. The god could be “resurrected” by an epic quest to restore their connection. Someone else could take over their duties.

I have to agree. I’ve been trying to write some short fiction, and the explanation of the villain’s motivations feels like telling instead of showing. I’m doing better when I describe the actions and how they look while doing the things that they do. Tragic backstory implied but not told is better.
