Trump was also free to run as a presidential candidate after leading an insurrection and committing treason in the process. When they allowed that to happen, everything else is just part of the ongoing crime show. And I’m desperately waiting for it to end.

Again, we can debate what we call the regime under which we now live. But it's not "democracy," there's no such thing as "free & fair elections" where this is allowed, & a constitutional order in which these things keep happening & they do not end a presidency is not really a "republic" of laws.

I have to laugh at the people (Merrick Garland) who thought it was a brilliant idea to stop all criminal prosecutions of the leader of the deadly Jan 6 insurrection just to let the criminal run for the White House again (and cheat.) Did they really believe he was suddenly going to follow the law?
