"Data centers can help communities!!" Yeah!! By...destroying them because you have to mow down neighborhoods to build the data centers! And then there's the poisoning of the communities water!! And the never ending noise!! And the increased cost of electricity that the COMMUNITY has to pay for!!

So, with that out of the way, what's False Hero? It's a very unique Dark Souls inspired game where the central mechanic is collecting the special attacks from enemies and bosses, which is a fascinating twist on things that I've rarely seen done this well, and is remarkably engaging.

First, a quick note on disclosure! I always like to be as upfront as possible with disclosures, so whenever I get a game from a developer or publisher, and I go on to recommend it, I always indicate so with the little gift icon. I also add it to this list: store.steampowered.com/curator/2834...

[Disclosure: Game provided by developer] Hey folks, adding False Hero to my Steam curator page. It's an indie Soulslike that has a lot of FromSoft worship going on, but builds its own unique combat system on top of a very strong foundation, genuinely thrilled with this game.

I see people confronted with facts like this become apoplectic and say that they simply won't follow the law, they'll do whatever they want, etc, etc. Yet none of them think through the implications of what they're saying: that the law is completely dead and there is no longer a country.

In one set of trials of shock gloves carried out by the US Army in 2024, the electric gloves caused “overwhelmingly immediate” pain to soldiers. They then reported that “just seeing the glove” frightened them into obedience.

Another classic, not sure if I've already posted this one here.

The image is a six panel black and white comic.

Panel 1 - a girl sits at her desk in front of a computer, looking disheartened. She says, "I dont know if I should post this art, who would even want to see it?"

Panel 2- A new person bursts through the door in the background with a loud BAM

Panel 3- The new person pushes the girl out of the way, smushing her face in the process, while slamming their fist down on the keyboard.

Panel 4- The computer shows that the art has been posted

Panel 5- The person makes direct eye contact with the girl while pushing their finger against their own phone screen

Panel 6- A motion blur is added to the last panel, enhancing the impact of the new notifications on the new post. It reads, "(Friend) Liked Post just now" Followed by "(Friend) commented 'I FUCKING LOVE THIS AND I LOVE U'"

Underneath the last panel is a watermark that reads, Shubbabang

Ironic hypocrisy of the highest order coming from the gamers angrily wanting to own physical media while using AI-made decomps that will only encourage corporations to move the future to be entirely cloud-based. You gotta pick one side.
