NHS transphobia inhibiting my healthcare: As someone having been on HRT for decades I'm supposed to have annual checkups, especially as I have a prolactinoma & history of hormonal issues prior to GAHT. A few years ago the GP said 'we don't routinely do that anymore' when I tried to book blood tests

As of this week Jehovah's Witnesses are nlallowed blood transfusions, so long as it's not whole blood (which isn't usually used in transfusions). Thousands must have been sacrificed to that 🤬 doctrine. I also notice the proliferation of beards on their men, & trousers on women, now they're allowed 🤷🏻‍♀️

The only 4 constituencies where rejoining the EU wasn’t the preferred option were those of Lee Anderson, Farage, Tice and Lowe. In those 4, the top answer was ‘don’t know’. Confirming that Brexit has no real support at all. Not surprising for a total shitshow. And makes red lines seem very silly.

Getting Better From An Eating Disorder: Autistic Trans/Nonbinary Voices

If you are interested in taking part, the survey link can be found at: https://tinyurl.com/57zd65rx

Who can take part? Autistic and trans/nonbinary adults, based in the UK, who have had an eating disorder in the past.

What would taking part involve? You would fill in an online survey (mainly with free-text boxes) about your experiences of getting better from an eating disorder and your opinions on the word ‘recovery’ as applied to eating disorders. The survey should take about 30 – 45 minutes. You can choose to enter a prize draw, with winners getting £50 or £100.

This study has been designed and led by an Autistic trans researcher and a Lived Experience Advisory Group. It has ethical approval from the School of Health in Social Science at the University of Edinburgh. If you have any questions, you can contact the lead researcher, Luka White, at L.C.J.White@sms.ed.ac.uk

Variable retail electricity rates are really showing the impact of UK electricity dependency upon gas prices this week. A windy Saturday minimised the need for gas and prices went negative. Re: Pause of gender-affirming surgeries in Wales
We are writing jointly as organisations representing and supporting trans people and the wider LGBTQ+ community in Wales, regarding the decision made by the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee to pause referrals for gender-affirming surgeries through the Welsh Gender Service.
We welcome Llais's public statement recognising the significant impact this decision has on trans people across Wales. Gender-affirming surgeries are safe and effective, backed by substantial clinical evidence. For many, gender-affirming surgery is a lifesaving procedure needed to live a normal and fulfilling life.
There has never been a national prohibition of a surgical procedure without clear evidence of harm before now. In such extraordinary circumstances, we believe the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee should have undertaken substantial patient consultation before reaching any decision.
We are calling on Llais as the Citizen Body for Health and Social Care to request an urgent meeting with the Joint Commissioning Committee and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to:
• Raise a formal issue with the Joint Commissioning Committee regarding its decision to pause surgeries and its impacts on patient safety.
• Request that Joint Commissioning Committee agree to surgeries resuming whilst the investigation takes place
We also request that Llais works with us to advocate for a formal investigation into the decision making processes that led up to this current situation.
