Independent Senator Yuen Pau Woo asked important questions in the Senate this week about use of nuclear weapons. Beside this one on the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, he also asked about AI & nuclear weapon control. Worth following him for any answers he might get back.

It seems that it takes months for anything to surface that gives overviews easily understood by the 'average' citizen and by then it is usually too late. Good on the Senator for asking, although he has been accused of also following China's best interests.

"But the handicapped need cars!" No, what they need are options in mobility. The tech exists to enable their freedom of independent mobility, but almost always what is lacking is the enabling infrastructure. Bike lanes and quality sidewalks serve everyone.

When you see who is largely responsible for challenging books, you might look over your shoulder to see if George Orwell is taking notes. Globally, many hope Nov. elections will begin undoing the harm to the psyche of citizens of the U. S., but I fear this mentality may be deeply embedded in some.

How discouraging to see from where the challenges originated! "In 2025, 92 percent of all book challenges were initiated by pressure groups, government officials and decision makers, up from 72 percent in 2024. Less than 3 percent of challenges originated from individual parents."

I am puzzled by lack of forcefulness by Canadian public health officials in demanding that government at all levels recognize homelessness as a primary health care issue - which if not addressed is both costly, deadly & inhumane. As this is a human rights violation, there must be a way. Any Ideas?
