positivity is great but it's not enough. you have to have a strong defense for the numerous assholes that pop up in the course of a day. your boundaries have to be strong as hell and so do you. confidence comes from knowing you can deflect any and all bullshit by whatever means necessary.

yup, prices go WAY up at lunchtime, when they know customers have limited time, are stuck in a drive thru line that's not easy to get out of. they'll charge right up the ass. when it's dead and you're back at work, price goes back down.

I grew up with two families, both fucking diagnosably crazy in different ways. until I got therapy I was a leaf on the wind, and not in a good way.

most of my couch is unavailable.

I can reflect and grieve in my own space. I hate funeral homes with their fake sympathy and stuff. it's a business for them. my mom died 10+ years ago and I had to make the same decision. and I'm well aware of how destructive seeing my father and wife is. triggered as hell just thinking about it.

mine are way full of demons. I conquered my past demons but naturally new tenants moved in.

could be someone that's wants to sell them for cash, I usually ask for the person's name and dig around, see if I figure anything out. (I've skiptraced people, you wouldn't believe it.)

I removed myself from them for a reason. because, like my therapist said long ago, they are better at being crazy than you are at being sane. you literally can't win. I'm not going to get all dressed up to be seen for opinions and judged and talked about later. it won't be an actual memorial.

all that said, the managed to lose 4 fighter jets off a carrier. I really hope octopuses learn to fly them and come for us.

so I have the arrangements for my s-dads memorial, and even this much contact (I haven't spoken to my "real" "father" for 20 years) is giving me the mental aspect of a rash. Since my father and his evil cruella are going to go, I will decline to attend. talked to my brother and he is aware. ugggh
