The people of Iran aren’t free. Iran can now charge tolls. The nuclear material sits EXACTLY where it did, in the same amount, since June. The regime is still in place with a younger ayatollah. Iran still was launching missiles, now with more money to rebuild. Period

Australia's messaging on fuel supplies is bananas. "Fill up like you normally would". Seriously?! We're experiencing the greatest oil shock ever, we have the lowest fuel reserves of any IEA member and there's every reason to think it'll get worse. But sure, fill up like you normally would.

Southeast Asia getting hit hard. Cambodia: +53% on gasoline. Laos: +33%. And diesel up as much as 79% The world consumes around 100m barrels of oil a day. If 20% of the oil supply remains stuck, then prices need to be high enough to get demand down to the same levels we saw during Covid.

#Alcaraz's team are derelict in their duty to the poor guy. Way too much pressure, way too little balance. The guy needs to recharge, but they just push push push. At this rate, he'll quit the sport.

Qatar's protection strategy has failed. This is very depressing, because they've built their diplomatic strategy around being good global citizens. Bad direction for the world.

Since the Iran war began in February, Cambodia and Laos have experienced some of the highest fuel price increases on the planet. This is energy insecurity in practice. And it's the most compelling argument for accelerating the clean energy transition in Southeast Asia — one e-moto at a time.

Really enjoyed Seoul, but kinda hard work with kids. Not a lot of parks and people have VERY high expectations of a five year's ability to be quiet. Ran into some Cambodians in a cable car - such relief!

Rare positivity in global politics today - pakistan vaccinating 45m kids against Polio, Rafah crossing slowly reopening, Trump creating strategic reserve of critical minerals and Liam Ramos and his dad released. Take the good days where you can find them.

Stephen Miller is such a wild extremist: "You have immunity to perform your duties, and no one — no city official, no state official, no illegal alien, no leftist agitator or domestic insurrectionist — can prevent you from fulfilling your legal obligations and duties.”

NEW: Coal-fired power generation fell in both China and India in 2025, for the first time since 1973. The drop came after record clean energy additions in both countries, and was the first time that clean energy was a major driver of falling coal power use.

I've dedicated my career to working on climate, and for a second I thought I might have picked a topic that was sorted and started to wonder if I'd be looking for a new challenge (hello plastic, my true love). How wrong I was. I feel so profoundly duped by the corporations and business leaders.

Great article on ocean acidification. Cascading impacts and damage everywhere... Earth’s ocean has become roughly 30% more acidic than it was in the pre-industrial age - mainly in recent decades. More acidification means less carbon sequestration and damage to marine life of all types

Australia just raised the travel warning in Cambodia. I'm totally sick of Thai aggression. This conflict is confounding and full of vested interests, but at this point thailand's position is just punished poor Cambodians to achieve craven short term aims and unacceptable military goals

Clean Energy accounted for all electricity growth this year. Gas/Coal were basically a wash and will be for years to come for electricity generation. We need to ramp up batteries because they are 90% cheaper than distribution grid upgrades which is the main reason we have rate increases.

Bill Gates hasn’t made sense on Climate since he teamed up with Bjorn Lomberg in 2009. This is just a restating of Bjorn’s book from this year about how we have a finite amount of money and we shouldn’t use it for climate. What they get wrong is that climate solutions are now fully profitable.

I stopped listening to Bill Gates years ago. You should stop too. Instead, I would listen to *real* experts who know about *real* climate solutions — not tech fantasies. You would then quickly see how these solutions can improve lives and help vulnerable communities thrive across the world.
