So I’ve been nostalgically marathoning Kim Possible and it’s depressingly hilarious how “naive”/“innocent” the show is in terms of broader politics. Not that show is overtly political or anything but it’s just a sort of early 00’s clueless about things that would be more a big deal in modern times.

It's about legacy and our relationship with it, going forward and backward. Like the legacy of the good guys is to train and raise up the next generation while the bad guys literally use the next generation as tools to maintain their own power.

One of my favorite jokes from any movie is in the 93 Mario movie, when Koopa made his loyal dimwitted cousins smarter and they basically became communists (like using Marxist language) and turn on Koopa the moment they were out of danger.

Yeah. The game industry (and this includes the indie industry) always seems to find ways to squeeze innovative game designers out of the market. Like, a good game isn't just innovative mechanically, but it also has to be well designed and I find that horribly lacking in today's games.

So I started playing Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time and...it's beginning if very slow and the dialogue feels so...corporate tech speak (even amongst gangs) and exposition heavy. I like a lot of the things in it, but despite playing for several hours I maybe did 2 fun things.

FYI the HUGE number of AI slop at GamesCom's opening night live is not a sign that the industry has normalized AI. It's a ploy to make you believe that. These games are all by the same 3 or 4 publishers. This is a concerted effort to make consumers accept AI.
