In your opinion, how much of the rest was really written by JRR and how much was in fact written by Christopher despite him claiming minimal intervention to avoid the pitchforks? Like from just the outline to the full color painting. (sorry if this starts an unintended nuclear war)

Colin is right. OpenAI is staffed by a bunch of mathematicians I respect, and yet the company acts in the worst possible way at all times. They should be shamed and roasted, even if some of their results turn out to be somewhat correct, not plagiarized, and not incorrectly autoformalized.

It's always been the case that it depends on the programming language: Machine Learning is written in python and AI is written in PowerPoint.

What a weird acknowledgment. I've seen companies doing that in the past, but that's a first for a theoretical CS paper by academics. I don't think there is any opinion in that paper. Is it because of Anthropic? (paper: arxiv.org/abs/2506.07977 lowers the complexity of 3SUM and related problems)

You know what's "funny"? In 1000 years, there is a possibility that they'll talk about our time the same way as the bronze age collapse and the fall of the Roman empire. Change in climate and weather patterns leading to migration, pandemics, political turmoil, and all the interconnected consequences

Graphe papusa forum @infoclimat.fr

Is the French education system blighted by social inequality?
Yes. A child born and schooled in a deprived neighbourhood in France has less chance of escaping their socioeconomic background than in most other developed nations, according to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.

But do you think that this is a different case than the training on copyrighted content? To me is. The model could be trained on whatever, as long as it doesn't produce counterfeit outputs, it's fine. Only the output matters.

So in your view it's mostly that "the law" doesn't have the same degree of reality as the laws of the universe. This I can definitely agree. I often quote Giraudoux's excellent jab at it ("Mon cher Busiris, nous savons tous ici que le droit est la plus puissante des écoles de l'imagination.")

This should be very easy to challenge: if you're selling something that bears my name but isn't from me, it's clear counterfeit. The farce is really when courts will not grant plaintiffs the millions of $$$ they should get, while they regularly do it when it's Disney or any other IP based company.
