Thank you Paul, it's a bit different from my last books. I'll have to catch up with your writing, I've not read any since Bunter, which I really enjoyed. I'm on holiday and have just started reading a book for enjoyment rather than to review, give feedback or because I'm on a panel with the author.

My comment was that just because politicians from both major US political parties attack Trans people, it doesn't mean they're identical. I'm sure both parties contain racists and they'll often be the same people. I've always stood up against bigots and have had Trans friends and family for 40 years

But the pursuit of growth for its own sake is pointless. If a small group greatly increases their wealth with no benefit to the majority, we get growth, but most of us are no better off. We measure the wrong metrics.

My response wasn't about attacking Trans people, it was about whether the fact two groups are the same because they both attacked one group. The problem you in the US have is you choose the same type of lowlife opportunists to run for office in both main parties. Too many could move between parties.

The problem is that the academies and free schools extracted money from the education system to the detriment of the LA schools because they were favoured. Their governance is also a problem.

You seem to be suggesting that we introduce a proper comprehensive system where every school offers a good education to the children. The fact that the previous iteration failed doesn't mean we don't learn from those mistakes and improve.
