One of the hardest mindsets for me to get into as an actor: dim, thoughtless cruelty. “Evil” is much easier, bc villains WANT something: revenge, validation, etc. But the callous stupidity of casual violence, unconcerned with consequence? That’s a genre of guy that feels almost alien to me

I recorded MANY variations of the line "Bonjour" so that the director could choose where on the spectrum of "Edgar is surprisingly proficient in French" to "LOL lame" would land the funniest, and I love that they chose a line reading that says "Edgar is NOT nailing this but he THINKS he is"

A certain AAA studio told employees that their internal gen AI was trained only on local data, but whenever said employees tried to generate an image of a woman holding a gun, it generated Lara Croft. The studio was not Crystal Dynamics, and had never worked on the Tomb Raider IP in any capacity.

The animation chat has me thinking one telling thing - in the years since AI arrived, there's not been a ground-up indie phenomenon, like we saw with earlier tech (Flash, etc). It hasn't unlocked anyone's creativity. For all the anti-gatekeeping rhetroic, nothing anyone cares about has been born.

There are a LOT of perks when you do audio work on a Mac, like driver stability & access to a lower-cost Mac-only ecosystem of VERY high-quality software & hardware. Buying a cheap, older (and fanless!) Mac that’s JUST for VO is seriously a solid value proposition.
