US military spending isn't just DOD. As David Vine writes in @motherjones.com, it is spread across at least 15 other federal agencies, and the total likely exceeds the combined military budgets of every other nation on Earth. These figures are "likely to stun most Americans,” notes one expert.

Think Trump’s $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget request is outrageous? This'll blow your mind.
We already spend at least that much on the US military each year, and maybe a lot more.

Today, TomDispatch regular @david-vine.bsky.social exposes a shadow budget loaded with Pentagon excess, waste, and bloat that has grown to epic proportions and may leave Americans on the hook for $1 trillion in secret spending next year if Trump has his way. theintercept.com/2026/10/01/t...

Despite broad disapproval of the war against Iran, Spain has largely stood alone among US allies in rejecting the use of joint bases for attacks against Iran. @david-vine.bsky.social and IGA’s @khansahar1.bsky.social argue more countries should do the same. Read in @counterpunchmedia.bsky.social.

I just published this article arguing Congress should use its power to rescind--take back--funds from the president + the Pentagon to stop the war in Iran + future endless wars Trump might want to fight (Cuba, China, etc.) www.commondreams.org/opinion/cong... @pocan.house.gov @ilhanmn.bsky.social

To Stop Endless War in Iran and Beyond, Congress Should Rescind the Money to Fight | Common Dreams
Faced with the threat of more war in Iran and beyond, Congress must do everything in its power to stop Trump. One tool Congress hasn’t used is its power to immediately cut off money for wars.

Help Block the BombsAre you as angry, heartbroken, and outraged as I am that our US tax dollars are funding Israel’s genocide in Gaza?Call Your House Representative today. Ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 3565, the “Block the Bombs” bill, to block all future weapons sales and transfers to Israel. Here’s what you can say when you speak to a staff person or leave a message:“As your constituent, I’m outraged that the US has given Israel more than $30 billion in weapons and other support since October 2023 to commit genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. These are my taxpayer dollars. That’s why I’m asking you to co-sponsor H.R. 3565, the Block the Bombs Act. Israel has killed at least 60,000 Palestinians, destroyed hospitals, schools, and universities, and is currently starving 2 million people by denying them humanitarian aid. H.R. 3565 would block the Trump administration from delivering major weapons to Israel. Blocking these weapons to Israel is both the moral and the legal thing to do. US law prohibits weapons to any country that blocks humanitarian aid and engages in systematic patterns of gross human rights violations. I look forward to your response on whether you will co-sponsor H.R. 3565.”Use this link to find your House members and demand they co-sponsor the “Block the Bombs” bill while thanking those who have co-sponsored:www.blockthebombs.orgWant to do more?Call your senators and demand they sponsor a Senate version of the Block the Bombs Act.Find their contact information here:www.senate.govView all comments

Another key point about the UK-Mauritius Chagos Islands treaty: Chagossians should receive significant portion of the ~£101m/year rent payments the UK will make to Mauritius for continuing to occupy Chagossians’ island Diego Garcia + for their ongoing exile from the island.

I hope this map is helpful to understanding--and planning resistance to--Trump 2.0's attempt to impose dictatorial rule in our country.
Map of efforts by the Trump administration 2.0 to impose personal-corporate dictatorship including who, what, why, where, how, when.
