On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder is a valuable thing to have by your side in these times of increasing fascism. Each chapter begins with a short bit of advice as it's title, followed by a sentence or two on it's potential importance. The rest of the chapter provides […] [Original post on sfba.social]

I cannot remove tag based columns from my advanced UI. 😅 Maybe I don't find the right place to do this, or perhaps this is because `column-header__advanced-buttons` div is empty and the Unpin button is missing from there. #mementoMoriSocial

Interesting post by the author of @allaboutberlin on how AI is killing his awesome website. #AI #OpenKnowledge #Berlin

AI is killing All About Berlin. When you Googled something, you used to get a link to my website. Now you get an AI-generated answer trained on my work.

This has a devastating impact on traffic. It's hard to fund my work with 70% fewer visitors. In another year, it will be impossible. Instead of writing new guides, I spend my days preparing for that future.

Yesterday, Google announced two things: AI-generated answers will completely replace search results, and AI-generated answers will soon contain ads.

This is the future of the web. I don't know where All About Berlin fits in that future.

An exhibition display showcasing Jolla smartphones. There is a big display that looks like a Jolla phone, while three actual phones are positioned below, each with a distinctive design and connected to charging cables. The background is minimalistic and predominantly white.

Display of tech products at an exhibition, featuring a Jolla Mind2 computer case with visible internals, three showcased smartphones on stands, and decorative packaging in the background. A screen is partially visible, and a small tree adds greenery to the setting.

Two Jolla Phones are displayed on a white podium. Each phone features a red-themed interface showcasing various apps, including a clock and music player. Information cards beside the phones detail specifications such as the operating system, processor, display, memory, and release

Nothing says security like storing your documents in a washing machine. The shield’s colors and font scream Facebook, which just makes it even creepier. 😅 And if it’s not a washing machine, why is this flyer hanging on a laundry line with a clothespin?

Ente’s yellow duck mascot stands guard in front of a locked blue safe with a round window. It bears an uncanny resemblance to a washing machine. Inside the safe, folders are visible. The duck holds a blue shield emblazoned with the letter “e,” but the color and font are just like Facebook’s, creating the worst possible connotation for data safety.
Beneath the image, the text reads: “Save your important documents and credentials.”
This is printed on a white sheet with rounded corners, hung on a laundry line with a clothespin to make the washing machine impression stronger.
