Is it possible this stretches back to the Boris Times or are we actually in a 40 year leadership doom spiral…?

I’m so, so sorry to hear of the passing of George Fenton. We were so lucky at the BBC Concert Orchestra to have such a fruitful connection with him. He was one of the few composers for screen who understood what an orchestra could do, and how it could support the narrative. A super star! RIP George

Cool, I’m happy with that. I’m probably a little less liberal than it says….

Agreed, and his love of football is entirely authentic (like Starmer funnily enough). But this is an awful story also linked to the growth of Manchester during Burnham’s time as mayor. I’d be very surprised if some of the dirt didn’t stick to him.

My, you’re a charmer….well argued though! You’ve totally convinced me that, yes I am a moron and an independent Scotland will thrive.

Yep, Burnham needs to give this whole subject the body-swerve asap. This story looks like it’s getting very toxic and the usual publications will use it against him.

Sorry, we talk about this as new thing but final salary schemes a are fading part of our economy and we don’t seem to have a plan….

Hi Steve, I have huge skin in this game and am happy to talk about independence but there is huge evidence against it which is ‘Brexit’…

Yes but Stephen…diplomacy it would seem. We are still too important a country to just call him a twat!

I’m nearly 60 and I’m for dropping the triple lock if it means that we can do other things as a country. But it helps that I’m part the final/average salary cohort…not the case for later generations tbf.

Can’t eat a sandwich until you subscribe to sandwiches. Can’t eat today’s sandwich until it has applied daily sandwich updates. Sandwich now has adverts even though you paid for ad-free sandwich. Can pay again to have less sandwich adverts. Now you can eat the sandwich, but it’s smaller.

Yep, mum suffered it as well. This can feel really quite dark when you first experience this. On Trump, it’s less easy to spot because he’s already a world class liar. None of this is good for the world if the people around him can’t or won’t see it. Another two years of this……(?)

This is dementia I think. I know he’s a world famous liar but to insert yourself into this story and the AI mock-ups of him in military uniform are actually deeply dark. I recall that feeling when I first realised my mum was on that journey.

Oh that’s good. The ‘shop’ was always a bit weird though I loved the noise from the Strand during lectures upstairs. I’d love to come by. I thrilled to hear that my BBC colleagues in The Singers have moved to the Chapel…lovely.

One of my favourite symphonies. The way he weaves his initials into the harmony of the piece, even before you hear them clearly in the third movement, gives much of the music a very sombre and often lonely feel. One of the greatest symphonists to have ever walked the planet.

Absolutely agree with all of this Stephen but no one wants to listen to a class full of recorders tbf…. Can recommend some of the decent plastic trombones which are often used in whole class settings now and are genuinely funny in their fartiness (sic?).
