The Trump regime’s utter contempt for the judiciary and the scale of its disregard of court orders is underreported and incredibly dangerous

longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al

The treatment for my immunodeficiency costs $250k/yr. Insurance requires an annual prior auth process, & it’s always fraught & requires appeals & is terrifying because without the treatment, I don’t have an immune system. My life depends on for-profit companies deciding not to kill me

I never wanted to learn about N95s and the limits of one-way masking and airborne transmission and how to read wastewater data or any of this shit! Public health was never my passion—I’d be thrilled to never have to think about it tbh if we had a functional system. It’s all just self-preservation

I don’t even know what to say anymore. The only thing Covid conscious people are trying to do, truly, is not get sick. That we’ve become the country’s newest freak show is predictable given the pandemic, but truly despicable on a base human level.

💯. Also, for a lot of disabled folks, we've been doing the other things. We've tried building bridges, connecting on common ground, open-hearted education, appeals to self-interest. We've tried it all & been met with hostility. So we're fucking mad & if that makes you uncomfy, that's not my problem

In the wake of this week’s nonsense I’ve seen a few disabled advocates say that anger is not a good way to convert people and not an ideal advocacy tactic. Perhaps this is true. But not everything a disabled person says needs to be advocacy, and the expression of emotion is an end in itself.

Oh hey look, exactly on schedule. Anybody feel like apologizing for adding to the pile on of a marginalized person because of an *obviously* bad faith article, as confirmed by the bar, and using it to smear a couple of marginalized groups as a bonus?

Y’all call yourselves allies and then point and laugh at people who have been TRAUMATIZED by society as a whole. Where do you want us to go? We can’t even try to exist together outside the borders of your majority? This is why I say American society is eugenicist.

Post by Michael Moran on X You all don't see the ableism because you're swimming in it. Every week you find a new reason to punch down on disabled people more swiftly and with more force: too cautious, too demanding, too dependent, too annoying. At some point, call it what it is: hatred of disabled people, normalized so completely that you mistake it for humor and common sense.

Hey quick reminder that human rights are actually not complicated. Trans people deserve the same rights to exist as their true selves as everyone else. Jim Crow & Jewish quotas were also “complicated” but turns out calling human rights issues “complicated” is just a way to excuse continued bigotry

You could even ask, "I've seen those masks around but haven't gotten to try one. Do they work well / are they comfortable?" I'd have been glad to engage on that level and would have even pulled out one of the extras I always carry around and offered it to her ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I saw 2 other people in Auras while I was there just yesterday. This was not a question asked in good faith. I met someone in the wild once wearing a very cool N95 I hadn't seen before and struck up a conversation about it, but I was in my own N95 so it was also clear where I was coming from

It was truly the last place I expected to encounter this shit, at a hospital in a very blue city in a very blue state, where even if N95s aren't widely worn anymore, there's still a decent number to be spotted.

I was in the hospital for an infusion & stopped for a snack for later from the cafeteria. As usual, I wore my 3M Aura N95. A cafeteria worker said w a smirk, "is that a construction mask?" then turned to her coworker & chuckled. Y'all, don't comment on masks unless it's to say "thanks for masking"

When I lived in DC & was young & had little disposable income, going to the Kennedy Center was a huge treat. Walking in felt special, an occasion. I always dressed up, because it felt right to look my best there. A few times, I got to perform there, and it was magical. What’s happening is a tragedy

hey quick reminder that anyone willing to "compromise" trans' people's rights to exist in the world will be equally willing to compromise *your* rights when it becomes expedient, so it's to your selfish benefit to push leaders to be vocal in defense of trans people now, before you become a target

i mean, what the fuck. i'm not wild about the alternative, either
In the meantime, Holtec is letting the wastewater evaporate, releasing small amounts of radioactive tritium through the air vents to the surrounding area. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission allows airborne releases of tritium, and Holtec's reported releases are below the agency's safety limits.

Holtec has evaporated hundreds of thousands of gallons of radioactive wastewater since the start of decommissioning at Pilgrim, and has enhanced the process in recent winters by heating the wastewater pools. Holtec said the procedure helps warm the building and keep pipes from freezing. But the practice has angered local residents and opposition groups.
