... I thought Regulans were the offbrand-renamed Caitians, the Kzinti the bigger-meaner ones... and I don't recall word one about her having injuries with lasting effects; but whether canon, deuterocanon, or fanon, I'd love to read whatever stories you're referring to.

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel we see a dragon sitting on a pile of treasure. A speech bubble pointing off panel reads, “Dragon, why do you have all this treasure?”
In the second panel we zoom in on the dragons face. He simply says “shiny”.
In the third panel we pan to the left and see that there is a crow standing next to the dragon on the treasure.
In the fourth panel we zoom in on the crows face. He says “hell yeah”.

Today I learned that "My Little Pony: Friendship is Optimal" now has its own universe, the optimaverse, in which .... nah, if you don't know, that'll spoil it. I guess, depending on how much you care about the universe, it's either a utopian story or an armageddon story. As SF, it's awesome.

Guy on the radio earlier saying we should all save our shower water and use that to flush the toilet. Around 60 companies are responsible for 80% of all global carbon emissions; telling us as individuals to do something without addressing that is just gaslighting and guilt tripping.

"Unaccompanied Sonata" by Card, surely? (I never could quite square the circle of why the prodigies received escalating punishments for continuing to make music after hearing recordings, including physical mutilation; it all seemed overly allegorical.)

If you're planning on chucking Firefox anyway, maybe toss your issues at an LLM to see if any of its suggestions might fix things, since 'making it worse' isn't a worry? Eg, browser.low_commit_space_threshold_percent , widget.wayland.fractional-scale.enabled , and layers.acceleration.disabled

The Tree on the Corner - Gator Days
The Tree on the Corner - Gator Days

Characters

August - Alligator - A soft spoken single father who works in IT. Gustopher's dad.

Gustopher - Alligator - An easily excitable child who loves making friends. August's son.

Panel 1

Gustopher and his dad are taking a walk when Gustopher notices a tree trunk on the corner where a big tree used to be. He stares and it for a moment and contemplates the fact that it's gone.

Panel 2

Gustopher goes to his dad who is preoccupied with something on his phone. He asks about the tree.

Gustopher: Why did they cut down the tree on the corner?

August keeps his eyes on his phone but responds to Gustopher.

August: It was rotting and a safety hazard.

Panel 3

Gustopher looks back at the stump. He understands the reason why it would need to be cut down but he liked the tree.

Gustopher: I guess that's good. Is it weird that it makes me feel sad?

August senses the sadness and Gustopher's voice and puts down his phone. He looks at the stump as well.

Panel 4

August puts his hand on Gustopher's shoulder.

August: That's not weird. It makes me feel sad too.

The two of them take a moment a moment to process the emotion. It's not severe or intense but it's still there.

I remember back in the day, finding *any* NSFW content catering to a niche was rare and valuable, no matter what other details were attached, and so I shrugged at and enjoyed a lot of iffy stories, images, etc. Now, with so many dedicated galleries, I've also gotten a lot more discerning about such.

One of the reasons you should never press "Yes: Round up for [charity]" or put money in a chain store's charity box is that their accountants use those figures to calculate how much discretionary cash is loose in a neighborhood and next quarter raise prices to suck it all up for the corporation.

I'll admit that I've poked at a few LLMs, seeing whether I could get around the filters. The most successful trick was starting asking for litcrit analysis, then swerving into the most bizarre content that they'd never have thought to train out: transformation into body-parts, or weirder. Silly fun.
