Hearing the words of the Reagan Ad reminded me of sawmills and pulp mills. The US propped up many businesses with subsidies and tariffs. What happened? They took the profits and paid their shareholders. Canada’s gave credits/grants to reinvest. End result: wider gap in efficiency/cost.

I really don’t think Americans understand what Trump has done to Canadians. Every industry is making plans to diversify to Europe and Asia and even if it resets we will never give up that diversification. It won’t be as lucrative but it’s a lot less risky than an unstable partner.
