Our first Pauper 0.5K at Curio Cavern Loisdale was a success! - 27 attendees across DC, Maryland, and Virginia - 26 different deck archetypes where Mono Blue Terror was the only repeat deck - A DC attendee running Spy Combo beat a Virginia player on Gruul Ponza in the finals!

@gavinverhey.bsky.social thoughts on stack distribution by color: White - exile spells, pay to recast Blue - counter spells Black - pay life/sacrifice permanents to gain control of spell Red - copy/redirect spells Green - turn spell into permanent (like morph) that can be conditionally recast

McVegas was truly a blur and I’m realizing I barely took any photos. The gathering is growing y’all. The volume and diversity of attendees was wild even compared to last October. Tons of new players, returning players, and lifelong fans. #mtg #magicthegathering

One of my favorite random moments from last MagicCon Vegas was getting to LobbyCon and being given two whole pizzas by @ifycomedy.com 💪🏽 #mcvegas

Great bracket 1 game yesterday 👍🏾 Me on Zurgo, Thunder's Decree looking to make a legion of Zurgo clones, player 2 on Claire D'Loon going for a Battle of Wits win, and player 3 on Red Death Draw-Go(ad). I lost the game with 46 Zurgo clones and my deck in my hand. #mtgcommander #magicthegathering

@gavinverhey.bsky.social could Wizards classify cards that search for non-basic lands/non-basic land types as tutors for the purpose of brackets? Non basic lands can act as win cons, protection, removal, fogs, and more right now and I assume they’ll only continue to improve. #magicthegathering #mtg

~Follow up~ Removing all partner commanders (partner, friends forever, choose a background, time lords, companions), the least popular commanders I find are:

A spreadsheet showing a sample of the least popular commanders, including name, rank, color identity, salt score, type, and number of decks.

I've got more time for MTG data analytics projects and looked into a friend's question: "Are there eligible commanders that have 0 decks on EDHREC?" Only result I found today: unpartnered "Rory Williams". Someone make a deck so he is no longer alone by the next update? #mtg #mtgcommander

Seeing the brackets reminded me of one of the resources our community uses to help with deck construction groupings for pods. Restrictive for some, but fortunately this locality has a bunch of different LGSs/playgroups to get spicier at. #magicthegathering #mtgcommander #mtgplaygroups #edh

One of my favorite mini games in magic is speed drawing tokens before the turn passes back to me while trying to process 3 players worth of text walls 😵‍💫
