The English translation of the last page of the Japanese edition of "From Star Wars To Indiana Jones" (there titled "George Lucas Museum") is very funny. "Lucas has finally gotten off his lazy butt and begun working on the first, second, and third installments of Star Wars."

"Lucas is now engrossed in realizing another dream at this ranch: the establishment of the Lucas Educational Foundation. This foundation aims to deliver messages to young people using computers and other technologies, and preparations are steadily progressing on the top floor of the main house. The television series "Young Indiana Jones and the Young Indiana Jones Adventures," which features famous historical figures, foreshadows its eventual transformation into educational program software. Furthermore, he recently created a company using digital computers for film editing: Digital Domain, which has brought ILM under its umbrella. Lucas apparently envisions creating a ranch for ILM as well, but seems hesitant due to concerns about the environmental impact. Even at Skywalker Ranch, he has taken environmental considerations into account, deliberately placing the parking lot underground. Lunchtime is about to undergo a major transformation. Lucas has finally gotten off his lazy butt and begun working on the first, second, and third installments of Star Wars. The Star Wars series is apparently scheduled to be released in 1998 and 1999. Ultimately, Lucas will make all the decisions, but Spielberg's name has also been mentioned as a director candidate. If they are released, they are sure to be huge hits. If that happens, more and more of his dreams will come true, and we will become even more intoxicated by his magic. He surely can see that future."

Here's my first pass at a timetable for Detours hunters at the Lucas Museum. A few things to keep in mind: All times are approximate. See what is currently playing on the screen in the lobby, then consult my "time to next Detours" column. Be sure you're on the correct tab for the day of the week.

Smugglers Gambit features Hondo's ship, The Katooni, from the retired version of the Smugglers Run ride. This ship was recently replaced by the Mandalorian's Razor Crest when the ride was updated, but still lives on in Fortnite.

This video is from yesterday. I highly doubt Neil was hinting at the Fortnite collabo, nor the Hyperspace Mountain de-theming. Between this and the Parks Blog hastily deleting the Scorsese food truck details, I think there was a Star Wars announcement cut at the last minute from tonight's event.

When I scooped the Batuu Adventure Buddies via their FCC approval, I also mentioned the updated Savi's lightsaber chassis — still forthcoming. The original Savi's hilt RFID functionality was approved under the code "SBE19", and a new approval was filled in June of this year under the code "SBE26".

Shouldn't be surprised, but the decision to narratively frame the "Batuu Adventure Buddies" product line as DROIDS COVERED IN FUR rather than actual creatures is so wrongheaded and disturbing that it undermines the entire concept. Has the LFL / WDI relationship evaporated?

FCC filings indicate that we're going to be getting interactive creatures including Grogu, a Huttlet, and a Baby Ewok in the parks. (There was also a filing for a new hilt, which is unusual — each Legacy release does not require a new approval — meaning either a new set or a full Savi's refresh.)

The Mandalorian deserves more than being a retcon overlay slapped on top of an existing concept, and the Millennium Falcon deserves to be more than a synergistic consolation proxy for the Razor Crest.

The "Red Jammer" Y-Wing in Mando & Grogu isn't just a reference to the unfinished model created for Star Wars in 1977.... It's literally that model, shot on a motion control rig. Restored by John Goodson for the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, George gave permission for it to be used in the film.

Happy Star Wars Day (Orthodox)

A grey-bearded Luke Skywalker is depicted in the style of an Orthodox Christian icon. He wears a golden undertunic, blue outer tunic, and a brown robe. In his left hand he holds the Rammahgon, a red volume of the sacred Jedi texts. He is haloed in gold with red text. Above his head is the phrase "May 25", on either side of his head are symbols written in Kitissakkullian, a language of the ancient Jadi texts. At the bottom of the image, painted over the icon, in white is the phrase "Star Wars Day (Orthodox)."
