You'd be surprise how many malware infections these things are. I don't talk computer security on Bluesky much because it's communists without jobs but you really really need to use adblockers at work centrally deployed. I've been doing it 15 years by now I was early.

When did we decide that the only way a person can “contribute” to society is economically? Why have we allowed the billionaires and capitalism to train us to see worth in such binary terms? Many people contribute in other ways. Your worth should never be tied to your job.

Inside you there are two wolves. One is active, the other one is on hot standby and becomes active if the first one fails or is taken down for maintenance. Add more wolves as necessary for increased redundancy load balancing. A quorum badger can be added for environments with multiple active wolves.

I usually use 2.95, and it has no adware. During the install, it may ask for your location/zipcode, but when you see it, just select not at this time or something like that. Keep the Internet setting on LAN but if you check the above, it should only try to connect and subsequently time out once. When it asks you for shortcuts, just beware of the default option to put an AOL Music icon on your Desktop, other than that you should be fine. I have used this in Win 95, 98, 2000, XP, 7, 8, and 10 in both 32-bit and 64-bit configs and it works fine, and the surprising thing is that it uses less RAM open and playing a song than the background search process uses in Windows 10. Go figure.
