The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

I was today’s year old when I realised there is a Pulp Fiction reference in Terry Pratchett’s book The Truth #Discworld #TerryPratchett #PulpFiction #RoyalWithCheese

Image of part of a page ( The Truth, pg. 79)
“Do you know what they called a sausage-in-a-bun in Quirm?’ said Mr Pin, as the two walked away. ‘No?’ said Mr Tulip. ‘They called it le sausage-in-le-bun.’
‘What, in a -ing foreign language? You’re-ing kidding! ‘
“I am not -ing kidder, Mr. Tulip’
‘I mean, they ought to call it a … a … sausage dans lay derriere’ , said Mr. Tulip. He took a bite of his Dibbler delight. ‘Hey, that’s what this -ing thing tastes of’ he added, with his mouth full.
“In a bun, Mr. Tulip’

Seeing the #BlueBells woods lift my spirit. Hope you too can enjoy some of this feeling from the images #BloomScrolling #Flowers #SpringFlowers #BlueBells #StopAndSmellTheFlowers #HarcourtArboretum

A close up of BlueBells - these are small purple flowers which look upside down bell shaped in clusters like little bells over a shop door

Woods filled with Bluebells bloom, which to me, seem like a purple cover and not blue. The trees are thin without leaves yet. Giving an impression of a purple rug between wooden columns

Russia's decommissioned Olimp signals intelligence satellite, abandoned in the GEO graveyard orbit region in Oct 2025, has apparently disintegrated - possibly due to a debris hit since internal energy sources should have been vented when it was retired

LUCH (Olymp) has started to tumble in its graveyard orbit tonight. Additional objects around the satellite can also be visually detected. An analysis of our photometric data is currently in progress.

The damaged Starlink satellite, S-35956, has been imaged from a Vantor satellite and shown to be largely intact, despite the detection of debris from it.
