Anyone know why Natural England deleted their EDP consultation video? It’s still on Facebook but they deleted it on linkedin and Twitter. Did they delete it because they realised encouraging feedback was a bad idea since everyone hates it? Was the background music not jazzy enough?? I need answers!!

The BS13 bat walk & talk last night was packed!! It was standing room only & kids were sitting on the floor! I couldn’t believe how popular it was. There were people from all ages excited to learn more about bats!! 🦇 politicians take note 🖊️nature is more popular than you think!

🚨 Nature loss isn't just an environmental crisis: it's a national security issue. 🌿 On 3 September, MPs will debate UK intelligence experts' warning on the threat of ecosystem collapse. ✍️ Write to your MP and urge them to speak at the debate: zerohour.uk/nsa-debate

Write to your MP about the National Security Assessment
The Gov's latest national security assessment makes one thing clear: nature is not separate from national security, it underpins it. Act now.

Absolutely. I knew very little about them before my (very unfinished) PhD on conservation genetics of the lesser horseshoe. But so important and so incredible. Also crucial for tequila (well cactus pollination), if that helps persuade anyone still not persuaded by the stunning photos.

The centre for policy studies is infamously opaque with its funding but Onward who co-wrote the report this article is about is clear about their donors and it’s exactly who you think, Amazon, property investors, fossil fuel companies and more ⬇️ open.substack.com/pub/democrac...

Guess who bankrolls the Tory think tank advocating for coal?
Onward's funders include BP, Shell, weapons manufacturers, a vaping business and Len Blavatnik, a billionaire who made a fortune in post-Soviet Russia

George nails it again: Crucial to the government’s war on nature is the “cauldron principle”. If a species is to be blamed for “holding up development”, it must be one you might find in a witch’s cauldron. ... They are bats, newts, snails and spiders. www.monbiot.com/2025/10/22/t...

Danica Priest @danicapriest.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
Surely they should feel deep shame they were this ignorant and clearly didn’t do any research? I hope they remedy this shocking display of incompetence by publishing an article on how nature experts are urging ministers to scrap new endangered-species-killing regulations.
1344
Danica Priest @danicapriest.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
It’s bad enough they publish a press release from Tufton street as if it’s news, but the report they refer to suggests removing Biodiversity Net Gain(BNG) for brownfield sites. BNG is for habitats, not protected species so it has 0 to do with bats or newts. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Danica Priest @danicapriest.bsky.social · 02/07/2026
We need to talk about poor journalism and blatant misinformation. Tom Howard published this article in The Times today with the rage bait title ‘Scrap newt and bat rules to ease London housing crisis ministers told’ which is more than just bad journalism, it’s actually an embarrassing mistake🧵

So WHY do we keep trying the same model and not have a complete re-think? 🤷‍♂️
