Money is certainly enough reason for Tom Watson, but... I am a little suspicious that Palantir also have some serious dirt on him to ensure his 'enthusiasm' for the project. That is part of how elite groups work, so you are bound into the group. My guess is, beastiality or drunk hit and run.
