Want emergency relief from high diesel prices? Lift the federal biofuel mandate. EPA estimates the mandate adds about 20¢/gallon to diesel prices. That could provide larger relief than expanding access to tax-exempt dyed diesel or limiting exports.

Are we really "Bombarding America's forests with Roundup"? Turns out it's only sprayed on a tiny amount of national forest land. And when it is, its often for good reason: to manage invasive species, reduce wildfire risk, or help forests regenerate.

No pesticide company should get a free pass. But glyphosate isn’t the problem most people think it is. After decades of study, regulators around the world (as recently as the EU 3 years ago) keep coming to the same conclusion: it’s one of the safest options.

Today the Supreme Court heard the Monsanto case about Roundup & cancer. MAHA supporters rallied outside, calling to ban the herbicide. Whatever you think about the court case, restricting the herbicide — one of the least harmful options farmers have — will make people & wildlife worse off.

It depends how much you trust the safety studies & EPA's standards. Under a worst-case scenario for glyphosate residues from pre-harvest spraying wheat, a small child would still need to eat more than 15 cups of pasta per day to reach EPA’s daily safety limit, which itself has a margin of safety

Rather than seeking to phase out or ban glyphosate, we should aim to preserve its benefits — minimizing weed resistance for instance — while investing in new alternatives: not only pesticide-free systems like robotic weeders but also precision spraying and new herbicides.
