We shouldn’t look at it as “tit for tat, tally the numbers to see how many times someone did something.” We should look at it as “who had the most credible evidence and proof WHEN they did this?”

Is there a president in the last 2 decades that didn’t support genocide? Doesn’t make genocide right, but I don’t remember any president in the last 2 decades that pulled the US out of war and refused to fight for rights/oil/or whatever reason they’re telling us.

Trump’s using his presidency to make himself and not the government richer after he introduced his crypto coin after his inauguration. Trump has also pardoned people during his first presidency. He also put a lot of people in charge who’ve never worked in government before.

Innocent people go to jail/prison all the time. Look up the list of people the government has pardoned after they executed them because they were actually innocent.

He probably wanted to give them time to prepare themselves or even scatter. For the ones who investigated the January 6th incident, I wonder what retribution they were in for. We can’t let our people be afraid to investigate the government and what it’s doing. Weird times to live through.

According to years of research we've done, there is actually no such thing as a "TikTok trend," and there never was. American elites were given a glimpse of what modern America looks and sounds like and it scared them so bad they went insane. www.garbageday.email/p/holding-up...

Gentle reminder that you can log off today and exercise, volunteer, play video games, run errands, crochet, bake banana bread, see a friend, binge any TV show, play with your baseball cards, tidy your junk drawer(s), bury yourself in work, whatever you need to do to protect your peace. ❤️

Fair points. I think the complex algorithm is what makes the influence we can impart on it more preferable than other avenues. I’m hearing you tho. I just preferred TikTok.

Maybe so, but I suppose if you don’t use a desktop PC or laptop for those apps (like me), it just comes down to preferences. I preferred TikTok because it fit me better, but that doesn’t mean the other apps aren’t good for their own purposes. Just preferences.

At some point, we have to stop checking out cuz we’re overwhelmed with the bad happening. What happens if we all get overwhelmed and check out? The last few decades again and again and again.

Nobel Prize winning journalist @mariaressa.bsky.social was arrested by Rodrigo Duterte’s government in the Philippines for her reporting. With Donald Trump set to take back office, Ressa says, “We’ve been here in the Philippines. There’s going to be a tremendous push to give in” to pressure #Velshi

‘Without journalism you have no democracy’: Nobel Prize winner Maria Ressa’s warning
The relationship between big tech and journalism has grown increasingly complex, exemplified by the impact of Jeff Bezos’ ownership of the Washington Post, leading to the resignations of several longtime Post staffers. Nobel Peace Prize winning journalist, Maria Ressa says it’s a “very difficult time for journalism in America,” and that the pressure to compromise to power “will always come.” Drawing from her experience as a journalist in the Philippines and enduring harassment under Rodrigo Duterte’s government, Ressa cautions Americans that “without journalism, you have no democracy.”

That seems fishy for the worlds richest men to be in one place tho. They usually worry about their safety, unless Americans aren’t a threat to them. Since when did billionaires like to be viewed?

Not knocking your experience or this experience in general cuz it happened on TikTok just like all social media. It’s mostly how you build your algorithm tho. I went from short second long vids to 3-10 minute long vids about news, how to use power tools, how to make my own clothes and food, etc.😅😅😅

TikTok had a lot more discussions to understand rather than posts to get an emotional reaction. People are going to want a reaction on any app, but TikTok was a bit different from social media in that sense (unless you liked reactive videos and curated your algorithm as such). Can’t escape it now.

Hopefully by then, we the people decide to work together outside of an app instead of app hopping. Biggest struggle is getting people to pushback more than they already are (somewhat) passively. The government will stop us from talking to each other if we don’t come together and do something.

Why do people turn off their comments? Anyway, saw a post that said “they” should shut down all social media so we’re forced to have a life. The government wants us distracted, not actually doing stuff. They’ll lose money.

You want to engage with the youth specifically? The youth wasn’t teaching me about ancient history or how to maintain my house.😅😅😅

“It's not easy to be exact, but studies estimate that tires create anywhere from 10-28% of the world's microplastic pollution, according to National Geographic. These particles don't just disappear — they end up in our water, our soil, and our bodies.”

TikTok started out that way back in early 2020, but ever since then it’s been spreading world news, teaching people how to learn skills they didn’t have, and allowed entrepreneurs to thrive and learn business practices they wouldn’t have otherwise.
