Ah, I see, whole lotta fujos hanging around that all-male drama school in hopes of seeing somebody’s confession to a classmate

A screenshot from the game Jack Jeanne showing a cafe and a dialogue box from a customer saying “two guys confessing their love is so hot…”

So I started reading Saburo Nagai’s Smells Like Green Spirit bc I remembered hearing good things about it, but so far I mostly just have questions

It’s a little wild how much the danmei section has expanded in my friendly neighborhood chain bookstore

This is the funniest thing I’ve read all week, made all the better by this person literally listing five characters in a reply

A cropped post from twitter saying:
“iv read at most 300+ bl atp and i can name maybe 5 characters who are canonically gay, and even fewer who are bi, pan, trans, the hundreds of others are all ‘im straight but’ it should not be a huge ask or ‘woke’ for characters to be Igotq in a genre about men making out.”

This hair style is amazing. Such a puffy mullet/hair helmet situation going on

The book is labeled romance on the back, but somehow I expect the happy first anniversary thing on this child’s drawing is not, in fact, the happy anniversary of this trio’s wedding

First up of the two volumes of manga that came home with me: Over the Rainbow by Keiko Honda. Apparently the guys on the cover met the girl in an amusement park, learned she’s got amnesia, and decided to bring her on to help run their law firm, so clearly very promising

I didn’t realize the new bookstore in town was a used bookstore, but I had some fun digging through the manga

Volume 5 of the older English release of the Banana Fish manga. This one has flipped art and a bigger page size, released under Viz’s Pulp line

The anime 100% did not have to go as hard as it did for this scene and bless them for doing so

"It was no problem at all to save you from those kidnappers. I definitely didn't absolutely book it over here when I got an alert about intruders in your building bc ofc I know nothing, nothing at all about why anyone would think you had royal blood."

They had to add the headphones to Nino's high school look bc actually the glasses weren't enough to disguise the fact that he's literally 25

120

jess @daisicles.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Actually I think Nino has the saddest story of every character in ACCA and his dead eyes here kill me

Poor Warbler, he suffers so from Jean being kind of an idiot. I hope he and his husband are very happy together after the end of the story

Lilium is the hottest chief officer and doubly so when scheming

Two panels from Natsume Ono's manga ACCA showing Chief Officer Lilium engaging in his primary duty of being a hot older man in a snappy uniform (and also talking about some plot-relevant stuff, but that's secondary tbqh). He's peering over a pair of thin wire-framed glasses here.

A panel from Natsume Ono's manga ACCA showing a side view of Chief Officer Lilium engaging in his primary duty of being a hot older man. He's peering extra hard over those glasses this time.

A panel from Natsume Ono's manga ACCA showing Chief Officer Lilium taking off his glasses so you can better see the lines under his eyes, as all hot older men should have.

Today feels like a day to kick back and reread ACCA, because I am in a real Natsume Ono kind of mood

The cover art for volume 1 of Natsume Ono's manga ACCA 13-Territory Inspection Department. Pictured is the main character Jean in his ACCA uniform with a lit cigarette in his mouth and a lighter in his hand. The cigarette smoke looks undeniably cool.

I got some lovely, lovely manga in the mail today

Some of the titles from The Beguiling’s Kickstarter to print Battan’s story The Golden Fly, arranged ever so attractively on my footstool. On the left is est em’s Carmen, in the middle is Battan’s The Golden Fly, and on the right is Natsuko Ishitsuyo’s Magician A

There is clearly only one actual guy in this group and it’s the redhead, everybody else just popped on a sports bra and called it a day

It is absolutely A Choice to depict Cerberus as three muscley men in pet play masks

A panel from volume 2 of Aya Kanno's manga Fruit of the Underworld showing three well-muscled men dressed in skimpy leather gear wearing dog masks used for pet play kink. One is holding a whip made of snakes. It's a whole lot of Choices going on all around.

This is perfect, 100% what I want from a yuri - one delinquent who’s like, what are these strangely sparkly feelings I’m having?, and one sparkly-eyed girl who thinks she’s super cute

This is actually the gi-fucking-normous edition

The cover of vol 1 of the English Witch Hat Atelier grimoire edition, sitting on my kitchen table, looking like it could be ginormous if I actually photographed it with something more than a placemat for scale

The spine of the English vol 1 Witch Hat Atelier grimoire edition being propped up very carefully by my hand (as I consider how heavy this is)

The first page of the Witch Hat Atelier grimoire edition, showing the cover illustration for the original first volume, my hand attempting to show scale beyond “this is bigger”

Volume 14 of the English Witch Hat Atelier regular release on top of the grimoire edition, lined up with the spines, for scale. The fancy version is a good inch wider and taller on either side

Well, it probably would've been easier to find if I'd remembered it was for Craft, not Citron

I’m reading vol 2 of Sakae Kusama’s Wandervogel and this chapter illustration reminded me so much of a cover illustration she did for Citron, I tried to find it again so I could compare, but I fear I’m gonna have to dig out all my saved images from years past to do so
