I feel like the explanation for this was the result of questions about how these alpha women would impregnate and Maki Marukido going “uhhh…they also get hard, I guess?” while searching to see if anybody else had relevant omegaverse worldbuilding

Thank goodness for the story summary in the beginning of the latest Omega Megaera volume, bc so much bananas stuff has gone on, I needed a refresher on exactly what bananas stuff happened most recently

Maomao my beloved, keep looking at Jinshi like he’s a particularly uninteresting bug before reaching over to touch him, I wish to see his head explode of longing

Rewatched the last Apothecary Diaries episode to remind myself of where it ended and I keep thinking about that post from the other day about Jinshi wanting Maomao to step on him from pretty much day one

Is there a new Apothecary Diaries episode today? I might actually be able to drag myself out of my tv watching hole if Maomao’s back on my screen

Review: OURAN HIGH SCHOOL HOST CLUB

But if we're talking about school-centric shojo manga, then we have to talk about one of the best-known titles from the 2000s, one I have so...

Starting to suspect that the good romantic ending for this love interest is gonna be some very respectful handholding and no kiss

I'm on my 4th runthrough of Jack Jeanne and it's only now that it's really occurred to me that I keep playing all these romance games with leads that aren't horny, which has sent my brain wandering down a rabbit hole of thinking about why

i saw before that people said "apothecary diaries is really slow burn w/ regards to romance" so i wasn't really expecting that about only 10 minutes in jinshi would already be like "wow I hope she spits on me, i hope she dissects me like a bug but in a horny way"

Speaking of social issues in bl, I recently finished reading Saki Aida's Deadlock series, which is very much a product of its time for good and ill, but manages to talk about everything from the need for American prison reform to CIA involvement in South American countries in between the romance

jess @daisicles.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Actually what I’d like to talk about is how many explicitly bi men there used to be in old bl, as I’m convinced they were often that way to convey a sense of overpowering masculinity - so manly that they obviously have to fuck everyone, so it’s okay

150

jess @daisicles.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

This is the funniest thing I’ve read all week, made all the better by this person literally listing five characters in a reply

A cropped post from twitter saying:
“iv read at most 300+ bl atp and i can name maybe 5 characters who are canonically gay, and even fewer who are bi, pan, trans, the hundreds of others are all ‘im straight but’ it should not be a huge ask or ‘woke’ for characters to be Igotq in a genre about men making out.”

Reading reactions to TP being TP over on twitter makes me laugh a bit in a way that I probably shouldn’t. But it’s just that I see wailing and gnashing of teeth that such a big producer of bl might shut down and I’m just thinking that fromRED’s selection isn’t *that* great

The first volume of Sunshine in Hades had significantly less sex on the page than I expected from something with the premise of "hot priest gives sex lessons to a hot gladiator", but it was still rather enjoyable, I look forward to the hot priest providing more hands-on instruction later

I’m reading the sequel to 10 Things I Want to Do Before I’m 40 and truly, while I love that Mamita is 100% devoted to drawing 40 year old men getting into relationships with their much younger coworkers, it will never not be funny how young these 40 year olds look

First up of the two volumes of manga that came home with me: Over the Rainbow by Keiko Honda. Apparently the guys on the cover met the girl in an amusement park, learned she’s got amnesia, and decided to bring her on to help run their law firm, so clearly very promising

Today feels like a day to kick back and reread ACCA, because I am in a real Natsume Ono kind of mood

The cover art for volume 1 of Natsume Ono's manga ACCA 13-Territory Inspection Department. Pictured is the main character Jean in his ACCA uniform with a lit cigarette in his mouth and a lighter in his hand. The cigarette smoke looks undeniably cool.
