Maybe Metrolinx dumping DB was not 100% a bad idea? They are not terribly good at running trains. delaybahn.com/rangliste

I know the folks at @moredotsmorelines.com are not huge fans of the “express lounge” concept, but I was impressed with the one at YUL. AC lounges there are swamped, so was nice to grab a couple just-prepared Montreal Smoked Meat (medium fat by the looks of it) on rye for my Dash8 hop to YTZ.
A hand holds a Montreal smoked meat sandwich on rye bread wrapped in white deli paper while seated on an airplane. Thick slices of smoked meat and a layer of yellow mustard are visible inside the sandwich. The aircraft sidewall and window area are in the background, with part of a brown paper bag visible in the lower left.

Up here in Toronto we are doing ok for roads and sidewalks, but have decided our bike lanes don’t matter for some reason.

Departure from Cairo
Aerial view of a dense, sprawling city seen from high altitude, dominated by tightly packed low-rise buildings in sandy and grey tones. A major multi-lane highway curves diagonally through the scene, with large interchanges and overpasses cutting through the urban fabric. Blocks of newer, more uniform apartment complexes stand out amid older, irregular neighbourhoods, with small patches of green fields and open land scattered between built-up areas. The overall impression is of an arid, heavily populated metropolitan area with sharp contrasts between planned developments and dense informal housing.
