Does anyone know the story on these bike racks in downtown Nashville TN? I see what they're going for but does anyone actually like or use these?

A bike rack with an unusual design mounted in the sidewalk on an urban street. The rack is two vertical steel posts spaced very closely together about four feet tall, with a horizontal element attaching the top ends in a shape reminiscent of moustache style bicycle handlebars.

They like their lifted trucks in Japan. This is snow country, after all.

A small SUV-style vehicle at a Daihatsu dealership in northern Japan. The truck is required with (I think) 15 inch Maxxis Mudder Buckshot tires, and the suspension is lifted to provide the truck with several inches of ground clearance.

I'm reading this Japanese cycling rules book. This page says liability insurance is required of cyclists in 34 of 47 prefectures! Yes, that adult in the cartoon is telling the child he's supposed to have bicycle insurance.
