In a lengthy email sent to me, ShinyHunters now claims it never intended to publish the FBI data it says it stole, calling the episode a “marketing campaign.” The group previously gave the FBI one week to change or remove an advisory about it. I’ve asked FBI for comment.

This is not a big surprise at all, but will unfortunately harm small and medium businesses the most. They more than any benefit the most from community programs and PPP cross sectoral engagement because they're often the most severely impacted by attacks.
