Agatha Christie (b. #OTD 1890): the most widely published author of all time, outsold only by the Bible & Shakespeare. Her books have sold >1 billion copies in English & another billion across 100+ languages. "And Then There Were None" is the best-selling #mystery novel of all time.#LitSky #BookSky
Fun lack-and-white photograph of an older Dame Agatha Christie seated at a round table in a book-lined room, She wears a dark blazer or jacket, a string of pearls, and has short, neatly styled gray hair. In front of her sits an open typewriter with a sheet of paper inserted, and she holds additional typed pages. Towering dramatically on either side of her are two extremely tall, precarious stacks of hardcover books forming an arch-like frame around her head and upper body, with titles visible including several Agatha Christie novels (such as "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" and "And Then There Were None"), mystery anthologies, and other volumes. Christie is looking up to the top of book stacks. Behind her, a bookshelf holds neatly arranged large books. The composition humorously emphasizes her prolific output as the world's best-selling mystery writer.

The biggest divide is not between “right” and “left." It’s between democracy and oligarchy. The billionaires who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us. They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see that they have all the wealth and power. Remember this.

1/7 In this stunning view you can see how the appearance of North America Nebula can change using different combinations of visible and infrared observations.⚛️ Color is used to display different parts of the spectrum.🔭🧪 www.spitzer.caltech.edu/image/ssc201... #Universe #Astronomy #Science
Four panels show the North America Nebula under different kinds of light. Top left is the familiar visible-light view. Soft reds and pinks with dark dust lanes sketch out the shape of North America, Gulf of Mexico included. Top right mixes visible and infrared. The gas turns a vivid blue while infrared parts glow red and orange. Dark clouds start to light up a little. Bottom left is pure infrared. Mostly reds and pinks now, with bright stars and dusty patches scattered around. In the bottom right the view shifts into deeper infrared. The nebula fills with greens, yellows and oranges, showing fine filaments and young stars that remain invisible in ordinary light
