Gov. Kotek tried to destroy preschool for all on behalf of the rich and was defeated handily by parents, teachers, unions, and socialist electeds. Now she’s retreating by announcing some vague panel to study the issue. The working class is strong when we fight together for what we deserve. 💪

Over 50 unions and labor organizations have called on Wilson and District Attorney Vasquez to enforce the law against ICE and their landlord. Wilson’s suggestion that children, the elderly, & union members caused ICE to tear gas us is beyond the pale. PPB swore in court ICE used excessive force.

Here is District Attorney Vasquez’s response to our letter. We have not received a response or acknowledgment of receipt from Mayor Wilson.
The images and videos of members of our community, including children, being exposed to tear gas and other chemical munitions fired by federal agents are hard to watch.
Let me be clear, I share the concerns and outrage that this is where our community finds itself - with foundational civil liberties under attack. Law enforcement, federal or local, has a responsibility to accomplish their mission while ensuring everyone's safety. Gratuitous force has no place at any level of law enforcement. We are a nation of laws. Those who enforce those laws must be held to the highest standard of conduct and fidelity to the law whether or not it is convenient to their immediate goals or desires.
As I stated in my November 24, 2025 joint letter with AG Rayfield, DA Barton, and DA Wentworth, I remain fully committed to reviewing any investigations submitted to my office by the Attorney General, or any other law enforcement agency, for prosecution.
The Oregon Attorney General has dedicated resources to conduct
such
investigations. The District Attorney's office does not originate criminal investigations and is neither equipped nor resourced to do so - we review investigations completed by law enforcement agencies. I am grateful for and have faith in Attorney General Rayfield's commitment. I know many of the members of his Criminal Justice Division and have great confidence in their work. My office remains ready to review any referrals made by the Attorney General's team or any other agency.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns with me.
