Who wore it better? Phillie Phanatic vs Gambel’s Quail #BirdOfTheDay #Borb
The shaggy green mascot of the Philadelphia Phillies shaking his tummy while dancing on the infield. An infielder scratched his head in the background. A very fluffy, round Gambel’s Quail strutting his stuff. He has a black topknot, brown cap, gray chest, black belly, and stylish while and brown striping on his sides.

My two brains
A vintage poster for Guinness beer. The caption reads My Goodness My Guinness. A man wearing a dark green uniform and cap holds a (presumably empty) bottle of Guinness beer and reaches his hand toward an ostrich. The ostrich, which is either incredibly tall or very near the viewer, is smiling and has apparently swallowed the man's pint of Guinness, glass and all. The shape of a pint glass appears at the middle of the ostrich's neck.

Blue: Looks like it's been raining pretty hard.
Green: Yep.

Blue looks down as they approach a puddle.
Blue: Be careful, it's hard to tell a puddle from a pothole.

Blue watches silently as Green calmly and confidently continues to walk towards the puddle.
Green: Don't worry, I know how to watch whe-

Blue says nothing as Green instantly sinks ears deep into the water. The puddle was a pothole after all.

My home river was the North Fork of the Shenandoah River. There was a quarry at the edge of my family's property and, on the other side of the road, a really cool two-cable pulley system for moving small items across the river. My dad never let us climb the tower to see if it still worked, though.

Through my company Technology and Society, my wife and I are sponsoring Atletico London for the 2026/27 season. Atleti are an independent women’s football club playing at Tier 5 in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League in England. This is our fifth season with the club, formerly London Seaward.
A closeup shot of the badge for the home shirt of women's football (soccer) club Atlético London for the 2026/27 season. The badge features the letters AL in a circle extending beyond the top edge of the main badge, a dragon representing the London City flag, and the red-and-white vertical strips of Atlético Madrid. A broad, jagged line of red extends down the shirt against a white backdrop. Part of the techsoc.com sponsorship crest appears below the badge.

The image is of a four panel comic.
In the first panel we see a dragon sitting on a pile of treasure. A speech bubble pointing off panel reads, “Dragon, why do you have all this treasure?”
In the second panel we zoom in on the dragons face. He simply says “shiny”.
In the third panel we pan to the left and see that there is a crow standing next to the dragon on the treasure.
In the fourth panel we zoom in on the crows face. He says “hell yeah”.
