Something has welded together the leaves of a young birch tree (that grew without being planted) to make a cocoon-like home for itself. That's the thing with rewilding: being *ecosystem* centred, it benefits 1,000s of different organisms and, just as important, all their interconnections. 🌍

CNN doesn’t understand even the most basic of economics. It’s time to treat them like the uninformed idiots they are. Inflation never stopped anyone spending - it eroded what the spending *can buy*. How stupid can people at CNN be?

Anon plz: ANC 8A Commissioners w/ MPD are holding a march to "take back" Minnesota Ave from their own constituents. They do not like these residents because they are housing insecure, hang outside, & receive social services from multiple orgs. They purchased bullhorns to “clear out" their neighbors.
Taking Back Minnesota Avenue

The biggest concern I've heard from many of you is the loitering, open containers, and drug dealing on Minnesota Avenue. Commissioner Davis and I have spent countless hours talking with community stakeholders to address these issues. I firmly believe we must stop the drug dealing before we can effectively address other issues in the park.

We now need your help.

Join us as we march together to take back Minnesota Avenue, showing a united front just before and on the first day of school.

When: Join us on Thursday, August 21, Friday, August 22, and Monday, August 25 (the first day of school).

Time: We'll meet at 3 p.m. each day.

Where: We will meet at the intersection of Marion Barry Ave (Good Hope Road) and Minnesota Ave.

The March: We will march in the middle of the street down to the 2200 block of Minnesota Ave in front of Boone Elementary, and we will occupy that block on both sides of the street. Commissioner Davis and I will bring bullhorns, but please bring signs.

How You Can Help: We need you, your friends, and your families to join us. If you can't march, please join us along the route to show your support. If you can't attend, please help make signs to share with others who can. We'll have MPD on-site, but our strength is in our numbers. By showing up for three days in a row, especially during the time students are getting out of school, we can send a clear message that we want this block backMinnesota Avenue Takeover

Neighbors and beyond -

We need a show of fource = WE NEED YOU

Please meet at 3pm over at Marion Barry Avenue & Minnesota Ave on Thursday, Friday & Monday (*Monday being the chosen day if you can only do one day) to takeover Minnesota Ave (literally) with ANC8A Commissioners & bullhorns and signs to march to Boone Elementary and clear out the 2200 block of Minnesota Ave.

To register and learn chants and see sign suggestions visit: https://anc8a01.com/minnesota-takeover

On the flyer is a roll of paper with a smile holding a sign that says, "Stop." Minnesota Ave Takeover. Join neighbors for our own takeover Thursday, Friday, & Monday Meet at 3pm on each day & march with us to Boone Elementary. For more info: www.anc8a01.com/takeover

2. What was happening? Stopping every car, or random? Specifically targeting mopeds? This post just conveys “everyone be careful” without giving people enough information to assess their risk level. 3. Same about not including info on which agencies. MPD vs ICE is a big difference for some people.
