It's classism. Gentry (like the quoted Natalie Wynn) hate being confronted by those they see as their lessers and hate seeing other gentry confronted too (their status should put them above that!). So any angry demo is automatically bad even if historically it's an incredibly effective tactic.

From what I've seen, the anti-semitism plan seems to mostly be a nothingburger wrt "betraying" anti-Zionism, as you point out; which is why I'm confused that the conversation isn't instead on Mamdani not stopping land sales in NYC, or firing Tisch, or disbanding SRG as promised, etc, etc.

Even just anecdotally; a lot of the time, I will hear a negative review for something, listen to the way the work is described, and go, "wait this sounds like it'd be awesome for me." Negative reviews are just not 1:1 with negative consumer sentiment

The problem is that "calling Democrats out" doesn't do anything. The actions of the Democratic Party are not mediated by the sentiments of Bluesky posts.
