Reminder: Back in early April, the #Cubs won two of three in Tampa, so if #Rays win the World Series, the Cubs will be declared #MLB champions.

Also, does it really matter since the #WhiteSox are going to win the World Series anyway?

A brutal loss, but Brewers figured to win the Misiorowski start. I'll settle for #Padres winning in four.

Finally had the chance to read @jaywigley.bsky.social's "How Retrosheet Saved Baseball History." Highly recommended! Jay was a big part of Baseball by the Book, and he did a great job with a super interesting story.

I hope the #Dodgers beat the Atlantas so badly in games 1 and 2 that all agree any subsequent games are unnecessary.

I just double-checked. Last night's #Cubs debacle officially ended at midnight. Assuming it was even a second past the hour, the Cubs made it to 10/1. Sorry for you, #Mets.

If you told me you recalled the following players playing for the 2026 Chicago #Cubs — and didn’t just recognize the name — I wouldn't believe you. * Charlie Barnes * Ty Blach * Scott Kingery * Owen Miller * Jayden Murray * Yachsel Rios * Andrew Wantz

Hard to see the humiliation of the #Cubs, but I’d have to count a Wild Card round that saw the elimination of the Houston Garbage-Can Thumpers and the Atlanta Tomahawk Choppers an overall success. (Go, #Phillies!)

Clay Holmes never pitched in the NLWCS for the Cubs against the Padres. Tyrone Taylor went 1 for 1 with a single as a pinch hitter. The Mets get to keep Jefferson Rojas anyway.

Hoping #WhiteSox can hold on. Also hope they can wrap this up in the next 40 minutes since, per #MLB rules, all other games will be paused so nation can be wholly riveted on Red Sox and Yankees.

Love that #Cubs haven’t installed those cushy, padded seats in the prime locations behind home plate. They just draw attention to themselves when empty, which, in many parks, including in Atlanta today, seems to be often.

This is helpful. Oh, for the days when starting pitchers threw more than five innings, players knew how to bunt when called upon, and fans didn’t need a hack to watch their team in the playoffs.

#Yankees and #Orioles were rained out, so Yanks only book 161 games, which makes them ineligible for #MLB playoffs. #RedSox get a free pass to Division Series. Tough break, Bronx Bombers. Better luck in 2027!

Any other #Cubs fan recall the year when, at the end of the season finale broadcast, Harry Caray got weepy and could barely get out his goodbyes? I don't recall why, only that Steve Stone was still his sidekick. It was both touching and extraordinarily odd.

Another area in which PCA has stood out this year: He's just the fourth #Cubs OF to play every game since the N.L. went to a 162-game schedule in 1962. Others: Juan Pierre (2006), Sammy Sosa ('97 and '99), and Billy Williams, who did it every year from 1964 through '69.

Because the #Cubs went 0-for-6 with men in scoring position and failed to score in the 10th and 11th innings of Tuesday night’s extra-inning loss to the sub-.500 Marlins, today’s game with the #RedSox is meaningless.

Just give the #Diamondbacks a Wild Card spot along with the #Padres. Then #Cubs and #Phillies can meet in a single-game elimination. First team to score a run wins.
