There was also a serial rapist who was tight friends with the feminists + student leftists. It took at least three of us to denounce him, for *separate acts* for the feminist leftists to kick him out. He was then student president at some point after being denounced.

My undergrad was (mostly) a commuter school yet I vividly remember at least one man who had a gun and made death threats against two girls, his exes. The university did next to nothing, to my knowledge. One dropped out. I think she never finished university

I’m not really sure if I’m explaining this thought well, but machismo and femicides are always seen as a “Latin American” thing... ironically Latin Americans have a way to talk abt these acts of gender violence and so have robust feminist movements. The U.S. doesn’t have either

It’s always shocking to me that people in the U.S. don’t really think of their society as profoundly machista. the words ‘femicide’ or ’gender violence’ aren’t even used. It’s like Latin Americans have a way to speak about this while U.S. Americans… don’t

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

The practice does not apply to detainees held at a detention facility in Adelanto, California or at temporary holding facilities in Minneapolis, New York City or suburban Chicago, the sources said. There is no more "state of the humanities" as such. There is no condition in which the humanities are under attack in which the whole university is not under attack. There is no condition in which the university is under attack that the whole of educational
infrastructure, public and private, from pre-K up, is not under attack. And there is no condition in which education is under attack
in which civil society can remain unimperiled. There is no sense calling for independent or solitary action by something called "the humanities" when that category has been so thoroughly absorbed by concerted attacks on democratic governance, due process of law, rights to privacy, security, assembly, and expression.
We are all humanists now.

Underneath is a picture of a metal cage that is 4 feet 3 inches wide by 4 feet 3 inches long, and 7 feet 9 inches high. The cage itself is placed on a tiny spot of fake turf, and then surrounded by another chainlink fence with razor wire on top.
