Me in 2046: another thing we used to do was we would add superfluous and nonsensical suffixes to words. "Whomst'd've" and the like. I suppose some people thought it was funny... Some Kid: ok grandpa the tribe doesn't have enough water to keep you alive so can you please just not make this awkward

If the people could topple the vampire class, what would justice even look like? I have a couple suggestions that I thought up while having an angry shower this morning:

check this shit out
Photograph of a young Ferocactus and Graptopetalum potted with red stone and small turquoise fragments in a glazed blue teacup. The cactus has dark blue-green skin and bright pink spines with white tufts at the base. The thick leaves of the Graptopetalum are purple at the tips with dark blue-green flesh beneath a pale blue farina. The pot sits on a west-facing windowsill during the last hour or so of sunlight. I grew the cactus from seed and the other succulent from a single fallen leaf. I bought the pot at a thrift store and carefully drilled drainage holes into it.

The Child, not yet five, describes the range between A and W as "above A and below W". This kid has abundant experience with books and text going top to bottom. This kid can read hundreds of words. Does not care about your arbitrary conventions.

hello fellow tetrapods
This is a hasty whiteboard drawing of a kind of four-legged creature with a long neck and undifferentiated head bearing a face which, upon reflection, does resemble that of Bob Belcher. A little balder. The creature also has an enormous bubble butt in defiance of what science tells us about quadruped butts.

Experiments and flaws abound. Also, pedantic taxonomy is definitely still in "probably was a @crustaceansingles.com comic" territory.
A single panel comic. The background is done in a rough and blotchy watercolour and charcoals style, while foreground elements are sharp outlined and flat shaded. In a richly appointed sitting room, a pair of foreleg bones hang on a rack above the fireplace. The guy on the left points at it and says "Wow! Is that a real dinosaur bone?", the guy on the right, frowning and sloshing his wine, says "What? No, of course not! Dimetrodon was a Synapsid!".

The Child, age 4, has a powerful urge to decorate for any holiday. We are making increasingly tiny christmas trees. This one is for Mouse Christmas. Where will it end

I've just written something about a really esoteric pursuit of mine, except I wrote it for the dozens of fellow cactus grafting nerds on the internet, meaning it has no glossing or explanations for normals. I posted it free for all to read on my ko-fi: ko-fi.com/post/Dear-re...
Pictured, a cactus graft in which a seedling of Weberbauerocereus winterianus has been vertically bisected and attached to two correspondingly cut stems of Pereskiopsis 'spathulata'. The scion half in this photo is healthy five days after the operation (as is the other). The photo includes a ruler in the background showing that the scion is about 7 mm tall and not more than 3 mm wide.Pictured, a cactus graft in which a seedling of Weberbauerocereus winterianus has been vertically bisected and attached to two correspondingly cut stems of Pereskiopsis 'spathulata'. Same, bee. #bloomscrolling
On a chilly, breezy morning, a wild bee is nestled in the folds of the bright pink flower of a prickly pear cactus (Opuntia polyacantha). The bee is surrounded by tiny particles of pollen which it has been gathering and perhaps snacking on. In the background, out of focus, a lightly colored pad (cladode, or stem segment) of new growth contrasts with the darker coloration and more profuse spines of last year's growth.

Sorry. Had to.
A single panel comic of two people talking. The one on the right is wearing an upside down fishbowl full of water on their head, and has gills. The one on the left says "Why did you get those gills installed, anyway?", and the one on the right replies "Have you SEEN what the plants do in the air? Gross..."
