This was a wonderful conversation!! Thank you @toriflee.bsky.social & @duxfeminafacti9.bsky.social for your leadership and sensitivity. Although it's not seasonal, I posted a prototype inclusive syllabus (def. full of flaws!) inspired by @cjdenial.bsky.social at tinyurl.com/MagistraSharesResources

Yeah, hi, I’m a person with “mobility challenges” (excuse me while I hurl). What we want, by and large, are not expensive, heavy devices that will “help us walk again”, but ramps. I know, it’s not sexy, as technology invented before Christ, but it is overlooked in favor of…this. Repeatedly.

CripAntiquity was at the SCS/AIA Conference in SF! Thanks to everyone who chatted with us during the conference and at our roundtable. Discussions at the conference gave us many ideas to improve accessibility in our sector. Please continue these talks and providing your support in the future!

Banning laptops from your classes is an accessibility issue and *forces* students with accommodations to out themselves to their peers. If you do this, you are not an advocate for disability rights. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Today I published a new section of my website with resources for those who wish to learn, study, and/or teach ancient languages using braille. It rests on work we did over the past year to expand screen reader access to these languages through the LibLouis library. Check it out and share around!

It has been a big month for CripAntiquity! Early in the month, three of our board members hosted a panel at the CA conference (pictured below), and just this last weekend we had our first ever annual conference, which was a great success! (1/2)
