I think everyone should see this incredible picture of Dolly Parton: it’s by Stacie Williams (asterosperma on Instagram) and it’s called The Queen of Appalachia

A stunning screenprint image in a style which is part folk art, part religious icon. Dolly Parton sits on a throne-like wooden chair, surrounded by garlands of flowers and leaves. Orange butterflies (I think they are monarchs?) hover around her head. Her hair is huge and golden, and she is wearing a long, sweeping orange gown, which is turned up over her knee to show off her brown knee length high heeled boots. It's way past time that mentioning the artist when promoting books, physical media, film posters etc. should be the norm. With slop everywhere, let ppl know you hired an artist! This is good marketing, you look good because of it. Which is why it feels suspicious when ppl don't do this

Very little boils my blood more than fraud. When people generate AI "watercolors" and pass them off as the real thing, it's very easy to be fooled. But you WILL slip up, and all the people you've bilked will not be happy. This has been my rant for the day. Now back to making actual art...

I’m seeing tell of AI “witch hunts” and I get it. No one likes to be accused of using AI when they didn’t. But it’s not a witch hunt if there’s actually AI involved, right? Are people really getting “cancelled” when there’s legit no AI at all? Is there a way to handle this gracefully? (1/2)

Been lagging on the cocktails! The hubs found a weird, simple one, but dang if it doesn't work. Equal parts mezcal (we used El Buho) and Amaro Montenegro. Chill, serve over a big cube. We added an orange peel for garnish and a little brightness. Ingeniously called the M&M. #creepyprettycocktails
