im on the hunt to buy a printer/copier SPECIFICALLY to copy my pencils directly onto my watercolor paper. Must be wide format, handle 140lb watercolor paper, and waterproof ink. I'm thinking about the epson eco tank 8850 and buying a pigment ink conversion. Does anyone have experience with this??

While I do like the idea of submitting as a team, that is a LOT of unpaid work upfront only to split an advance with 4 people. In theory bigger team = better book = more success, but it’s a lot of risk. But imagine pubs having coloring and lettering departments…

Either we cartoonists need to start assembling and submitting as teams of cartoonists, colorists, and letterers more often, or publishers need to have on staff dedicated colorists and letters. Graphic novels take so long and having to do every step as one artist is really burn out inducing.

I hate how “artist” has become a catch all term for any visual artist. Not only can you be in artist in many mediums, but also lumping picture makers into “artist” discredits all the disciplines under that umbrella. Drawing, draftsmanship, illustration, and cartooning are all different skills
