I'm on the same page as people speculating this project went massively over initial production estimates due to the enormous success, which lines up with what you're saying. In a way, I can sympathize to an extent about being paralyzed by being too nervous about posting bad news to angry backers..

I really believe you, I genuinely do. I think the other people in charge of the project need to step up and post an update.. the KS comment section is very upset and hostile and it's not gonna get better the longer we go without updates. I'm at least satisfied with the stuff y'all already did

[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe] Version 4.0.0 has been released. This update adds Switch 2 features (resolution bump, shorter loading, 5~8 people multiplayer, CameraPlay). It also increases player speed by 1 coin, adds 96 course VS Races, and removes offroad speed loss when using Boo.

This was a great video! The only feedback I can share would be some slight microphone tweaks (using those filters they use for reducing mouth noises or something, and maybe increasing audio clarity/crispness), but it's the best video on Namco & retro games history I think I've ever watched :)

*resolution bumped up.. which could solve the distracting bad shadows issue if the game could be further optimized to work better with the amount of system memory it has VS. the minimum 12GB RAM specs for the PC version. I hear having GameChat and OS take up those resources may make ports rougher

Low framerate cap aside, the shadows are so pixelated like a lot of Switch 1 games were, and flickering so intensely, I can see this being very distracting for Switch 2 players (no idea about other platforms RN). I don't know if this be bumped up and more Switch 2 features can be taken advantage of

So I hope it's not too disheartening to the dev team to possibly see critics mention these performance issues during the launch reviews. I have confidence things could be optimized and we can get more settings to tweak and a Performance Mode option and whatever else makes it more enjoyable

I love this game but performance is REALLY unexpectedly rough on Switch 2. Frankly, it feels like you're running it on Switch 1, which is very disappointing, especially with the lower framerate, low resolution shadows/no VRR/no DLSS, extreme asset pop-in. I do love you guys and I'll have patience ❤️

[Classics - Virtual Boy] Version 1.3.0 has been released. This update adds Zero Racers and Dragon Hopper. These titles were originally completed in 1996 but were never released due to the failure of the Virtual Boy. It also adds a feature to change the screen color.
