What data are you using for Scotland? The greens got a higher list vote than the Tories and LDs in May, and also had the highest list vote in multiple constituencies, so it's strange they have nothing in this projection

This is why the indyref2 question is the tip of the devolution iceberg; the UK sees it more as appeasement rather than a constitutional settlement à la Germany Imo, 2/3 majority of MSPs should be the threshold for a referendum on any changes to devolution - whether that's an increase or decrease

Craig @craignotkreg.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
This is why the current settlement, at the very least, should have robust protections to stop a WM majority culling devolution overnight. I feel we underestimate the fact a Reform gov might just do that, especially since their Scottish branch are somewhat anti-devolution

I also think James Blunt saved her skin by saying she was the recruit. Everyone would expect Hannah to be killed, so not killing her would spark suspicion Meanwhile, Jerry has shown herself to be a liability in the tasks and probably won't be voted out as a traitor

Maybe just commiting to the Gaelic name could be a way to distinguish them? I feel their voters are neutral to Gaelic at worst, and "Pàrtaidh Uaine" is somewhat easy to say with the limited Gaelic knowledge your average Scot has Would also deal with the IGV issue

The image is of a four panel comic. The title reads "Poltergeist".
In the first panel we see a woman with a worried expression on her face. She says, "stuff keeps moving around my house."
In the second panel the same woman says "I'm terrified. I can't sleep."
In the third panel we see a ghost holding a candle and a pillow that reads "live laugh love". The ghost is zooming through the house.
In the fourth panel we see the same ghost hanging up a frame and thinking, "home decor is my passion".

Seriously tho, the Euro should allow each country to design their own notes (with obvious limitations) like the Scottish banks do. Would make it the peak currency!

Craig @craignotkreg.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
I'm against adopting the Euro for purely aesthetic reasons. Let me keep my Wonder Woman fivers, tenner otters, and twenty squirrels, then we can talk. It's all legal tender, goddammit!

Say what you will about the BBC, but it's clear they have a quota in big shows like this (eg Strictly, Traitors) for at least ONE contestant from EACH of the Celtic nations I may bemoan the token Scot who was obviously the only person they could find, but that's better than no Scot at all!

Craig @craignotkreg.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
I get it may be a "hassle" to recruit outwith the South of England, but that means they should update their processes Stuff like this gets shrugged off by English folk, who then get shocked when Celts say they want to leave a country that's failing to represent us

Do I love Nigella? Yes. Do I think it was a choice to have NO Celts in Bake Off for the second time? Also, yes. #GreatEnglishBakeOff

As someone in their mid-twenties (covid hit during my second year at uni) I think that's part of the issue with folk my age, and part of the reason we're having a loneliness epidemic. How can you expect to make friends if you can't even talk to a servive worker?

I'm not suggesting we should be chucking French and German from ticket machines, but we should've added Gaelic to them when we updated all the signs My radical suggestion is that all train announcements should be in Gaelic and English. We need to make the language more visible for it to survive
010
Craig @craignotkreg.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
It's the fact loads of basic digital services just AREN'T available in Gaelic or Scots. Gaelic train station signs are nice and all, but purely symbolic and kinda useless if YOU CANNAE BUY A TICKET IN GAELIC FAE A MACHINE!

That's the proposal they should've started with, tbh. Part of me feels like they intentionally put the Dean Bridge route in as a red herring so they'd have an easy way to cancel the whole project
000
Craig @craignotkreg.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
I feel that isn't a completely fair read. Many preferred the Dean bridge route as you would be sacrificing car infrastructure instead of pedestrian infrastructure The issue is, they shouldn't've allowed there to be the Dean bridge option if it were too expensive to commit to in the first place!

The attitude of some English folk when talking about allowing indyref2, not even independence itself, just strengths my resolve for leaving the UK, especially now we're over a decade on from it I do feel it is a symptom of England needing some decentralisation, however

I feel so bad for Q too cause they shouldn't've needed to apologise for being taken so badly out of context by folk who, let's be honest, only cared about the issue as far as it could be used as a political weapon

It's infuriating cause it's not even their first rodeo. There was the whole "no more prisons" thing Kate Nevens said that was taken out of context and flown about by even the BBC They need better responses considering how ready the establishment is for bad faith interpretations

I think a Monica Lennon-led Labour could potentially do it if she were to appeal to the soft-nats. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if the party imploded out of spite for having a centre-left leader of the *checks notes* nominally centre-left party

To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars. Even if those cars are electric. And then there’s all the parking. OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money, emissions, pollution, noise etc. Choices. Simple.
Graphic showing a 9 m wide track for metros can move as many people as a 175 m wide, 7 lane road for cars.

It would disincentivise trying to jump ship to WM during UK (by-)elections, or being shoe-horned into the Lords like Sarwar. I feel an exception should be made in cases of ill-health or death, however MSPs are elected for 5 years, so there should be some consequence for not meeting that mandate

If Scotland can survive with 3 different banknote types, I feel like the Eurozone can survive with each of the 21 countries having their own notes Just create a standard template with the same checks and allow each country to do their own thing within that - outwith including controversial figures

I think it should just go to the next party in the list (so a Green in this case; Reform in place of the NE Tory that moved to WM) as a regional by-election would be a logistical nightmare

I think one reason data center outrage is so pronounced is people spent decades recycling and composting and otherwise scrimping to offset energy use and protect clean water, and the second we hit an inflection point for cheap electricity the banking industry said we’re taking all of it, fuck you
