25 years ago, terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people, including 2,753 New Yorkers. As we remember that terrible day, let us also remember the first responders, office workers and strangers who ran toward danger to help each other.

My dad yesterday, noticing our key storage for the first time: “Laura, this is a lot of keys for a family that only has one car…” Me: “Yes, we have a lot of bike locks.”
6 sets of keys on carabiners hang from a key storage thing on the wall. The wall is teal.

I was on a call with someone w/ a major bike brand (for @mcbl.bike stuff) today. They asked me what Minneapolis’ bike culture is like. My best friend had just texted me this story about her 4yo who recently switched from balance bike to pedal bike & IME it’s representative of Mpls’ bike culture:
Screenshot of a text message:

I've leveled up on parenting. doesn't have school today
and I had to bring
to OT
this mornina, so I missed my run. But
and I just went
together! She rode her bike, I ran, and she made it the whole way!!
I think one of my favorite parts of living where we do is that whenever our kids are out on their little bike so many strangers who are also out biking and walking cheer them on.
A caravan of old men on road bikes passed us and they were cheering and ringing their bells for her.

People say BlueSky is an echo chamber but we have road cyclists, gravel cyclists, mountain bikers, single speeders, fixie riders, cargo bike riders, e-bike riders, hybrid riders, recumbent riders, bikepackers, randonneurs, and I'm sure we even have a few unicyclists among us
