David Moreau's Heartbeat was the most frustrating to me, as it constantly had footage from cameras that couldn't possibly be there, and it kept swapping between them, and it was both distracting and unnecessary. The segment would have been a lot stronger if they had kept the cameras believable.

Tobias Forge gave us an inspired music video with Premature Burial, and Flying Lotus gave us Another Cabin, which was fun but I would have loved to be longer.

Ernest Dickerson's "The Music of Mr. Sze" is a Lovecraft-inspired segment that goes totally insane. Don't worry, we watched the credits closely and it's all VFX and CGI, not AI, and yay for that.

Not sure if I loved Renee Zhan's "Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance" or RZA's "Death Tone" the most. Barbara Crampton is great in the first segment and V/H/S Halloween fans will note a Fun Size easter egg, while RZA clearly used all his musical mixing knowledge to great effect in Death Tone.

#Hallowen #Horror Watch: Just finished V/H/S Mixtape. Overall, it's a great addition to the franchise. Lots of humor, lots of gore, lots of GWAR, lots to love. They do break the found footage conceit as badly as V/H/S Viral, but IMHO, the payoff is much more worth it. #horrorsky

Nonetheless, it was still the first Hellraiser movie in quite a long time to capture the weirdness and violence. I actually loved the Auditor, the Stygian Inquisition, and everything that went on at 55 Ludovico, so it's got a warm spot in my heart, even if it's Doug Bradley under all those pins.

Having watched a couple of episodes of the new Carrie, I can confirm it is very good. Recognisable, but canted very cleverly into now. Clearly thematically this will make it differ. But it’s cleverly done, even just taking US gun law, smartphone use and social media into account. Recommend.
