I tend to put off books (and movies/shows/video games) I know I'll love and obsess about because I know they're going to pivot everything I'm thinking about and prioritizing. It's like switching train tracks, where I'm suddenly put on a different destination and there's nothing I can do about it.

The Sportsman's Club in Charlottetown PEI booked the punk band Rougaroux, which has several trans members. I've been aimlessly bouncing between projects and in a fit of frustration asked myself "which one gets me the most angry?" And then suddenly wrote 5k words in two hours. The problem though, with pouring out all that rage and grief onto paper did mean I cried in the shower when I got home

So when someone makes a joke about trans stuff, I think about the hell I had to go through just on the paperwork side, let alone all the fucking abuse and bullshit I deal with on the daily. All I want in life is to be happy in my own skin and be percieved as who I've always known I am.

And this isn't counting the marriage certificate I had to get from BC, information about my birth mom I haven't spoken to in over a decade, the countless notary stamps, like it's hellish and I hate it. If I had any worse executive dysfunction I'm pretty sure I'd be here till the day I die.

All to say, this process is expensive, research intensive, and a maze of beurocracy. And each person Ive talked to in this process has been kind and understanding! If even one person wasn't in these insitutions among the half dozen I have been fighting with I would've been stopped dead in my tracks.

Back to the fingerprint process, because I live rurally, I have to travel a half hour to the local county Mounties HQ, where they're only open on Wednesdays. Which means taking time off work, gas, etc.

Which requires a fucking garuntor that has known me for two+ years, of which there are only acceptable in a limited number of professions like lawyer or doctor! Queue me emailing my pych to plead with her, since my family doctor's secratary told me he won't!

But oh wait! Despite living in one of the easiest locations in North America to change a gender marker, *technically* my parents had me in Ontario despite us moving back to Nova Scotia the next month. Joy! That means, I need to go through Ontario's birth certificate process!

So I need to redo my fingerprints. This requires getting a money order for the registar general, and you guessed it, my birth certificate. I've been told over the phone that my certified copy will work though again, but I'm assuming the worst. But still, I need to get going on an actual certificate.

The reason this time? My legally mandated fingerprints were expired, and therefore, deleted. I missed filling in one section of the 40 pages of forms I had to send in, and my certified copy of my birth certificate, wasn't enough. I need the full certificate, despite being told the copy would work
