Ok, I’ve been watching Starfleet Academy, along with all the rabid criticism. I’ve got to ask — what the f**k are the critics TALKING about? Starfleet Academy is the purest version of Star Trek I’ve seen in years. Brilliant, beautiful and true to the show’s ideals. I approve, wholeheartedly.

I’m so sad to hear about the passing of my old friend Jean Rabe. My thoughts and love go out to her husband Bruce, and to her many friends and fans. One of the most creative people I have ever known. Also one of the most loved. She will be greatly missed.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map. This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026. The vote failed big, 19/31. The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

It’s been a journey- again. Nasty Foley cath pain from bad UTI sent me back to hospital. Heart rate & pressure started rising, requiring hearth cath. Surprise, two big blockages! One cleared with stint, but unable to fix second until heart rate/pressure stabilize with meds. /thread 1

#Superman made me so damn happy. The movie is loaded with exhilarating action set pieces and well-placed humor and levity, but the beating heart of the film is Superman’s humanity, and his insistence on doing good and making the world a better place.

James Gunn brings #Superman back to basics by letting the light in, injecting DC films with an exhilarating optimism and joy. Corenswet and Brosnahan are deserving heirs to Reeve and Kidder, both recklessly good people reckoning with the limitations of Supes’ impulsive, at times naive goodness.
